Oak Harbor Freight Lines is looking for a Mobile Diesel/Trailer
Mechanic to perform a variety of preventative maintenance tasks on
our fleet. The position performs routine maintenance and repairs on
different types of equipment (Trucks, Trailers, Bobtails,
Liftgates, Forklifts). The successful candidate will work 80% in
our mobile shop and 20% in our West Sacramento facility which is
subject to change depending on business needs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair driver's written reports and verbal
complaints about equipment.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all
required repairs on company equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers and other
equipment.
- Perform repairs following industry standards.
- Complete documentation of all repair orders and charging parts
accountability.
- Keep track of assigned repairs by logging in and out ofTMT
fleet maintenance software.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with
workplace safety rules and regulations. Job Requirements and
Qualifications
- Knowledge of diesel medium-duty and heavy duty trucks is
preferred (Volvo, Kenworth, International, Freightliner)
- Physical strength and stamina Unrestricted ability to walk,
stand, bend, stoop, squat, lift (up to 50 lbs.) push, pull,
climb.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Valid driver license with good driving record
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical
repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment for
a commercial fleet.
- Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computer
skills Windows and Diagnostics software.
- Must meet DOT standards to achieve brake and annual inspection
certifications. A minimum of 1 year experience or a certificate
from an approved training program.
- Experience in Repair, Dry Van, Structure, Roll & Swing Doors,
Interiors, Exteriors, Ceilings, and Roof repairs is a plus.
- ASE or manufacture certification is a plus.
- Ability to read and understand technical service manuals,
repair orders, labels, and gauges.
- Experience and knowledge of DOT Out-of-Service criteria.
- EPA HVAC Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Certification.
- Basic welding skills (Oxy/Acetylene, MIG and ARC)
- CDL license is a plus Oak Harbor Freight Lines offers
