We set them.Job Summary:The Senior Consultant I will provide support for the Government and Industry Relations group and business clients. This position conducts and analyzes legislative, regulatory and legal research, identifies issues, and provides legal analysis and strategic advice. In addition, conducts initial attorney review and assessment, prepares summaries, and reviews/revises advocacy materials. A law degree is preferred, but not required for the right candidate.Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and refines messages through direct contacts, local counsel, trade associations, coalitions, grass roots, and others
  • Educate/brief/report on status of legislative/regulatory developments to clients, employees, and external consultants
  • Undertake interviews of information custodians and/or fact witnesses
  • Ensure compliance with election law/contribution laws
  • Review client document production in response to examiner request
  • Review notices of exams and evaluate scope
  • Help provide legal advice and counsel to business clients on compliance related questions
    -Supervisory Responsibilities: This job does not have supervisory duties. Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's Degree or JD with an attorney license within State of Practice -
    • 3 or more years of related experienceCertificates, Licenses, Registrations:Attorneys will require a JD and license within State of Practice (California) -Functional Skills:
      • Project management skills and law firm/vendor management experience
      • Foundational legal and business knowledge
      • Foundational analytical skills
