Position Summary
Under the general lead work direction of the Property
Management/Central Receiving Administrator, this position supports
the goals of Property & Receiving Services by providing moderate
administrative support. Duties include, but not limited to typing,
filing, front office support, strong customer service skills, and
greeting and assisting customers, faculty, staff, administration,
vendors, suppliers and contractors. Also provide support for
warehousing, receiving, property inventory, and retrieval and
disbursement of campus surplus property. Additionally, the position
will assist with the work duties of Property & Receiving employees
when on vacation or call out sick.
FLSA: Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime compensation under FLSA).
This position is benefits-eligible.
CSU Classification Salary Range: 3,120.00 to $3,829.00 per
month
Hiring Range: 3,120.00 to $3,542.00 per month
Recruitment Type: Regular (probationary)
Time Base: Full-Time
Pay Plan: 12 month
Work Hours: M-F 7:30 am - 4:00 pm (30 minutes for lunch) This is an
on-site position.
Department Information
Under the general lead work direction of the Administrator I, this
position supports the goals of the Property Management & Central
Receiving Departments.
Minimum Qualifications
Entry to this classification requires fundamental written and oral
communication skills, including a sound foundation in English
grammar, spelling, and punctuation; an ability to understand
standard office procedures; an ability to operate standard office
equipment; an ability to learn office technology systems; an
ability to perform basic mathematical calculations; and typing and
keyboard skills. These entry qualifications would normally be
obtained through completion of a high school program or its
equivalent and some experience in an office environment.
Required Qualifications
1. Experience working independently on assigned projects and to be
able to set priorities and be accountable for work results.
2. Experience receiving and relaying information and responding to
questions from various client groups such as faculty, staff,
administration, customers and the general public.
3. Experience addressing issues in a fast pace administrative work
environment and ability to apply solutions to resolve issues.
4. Possessing good communication skills, both verbally and in
writing.
5. Experience with providing administrative support in an asset
management office or comparable setting.
6. Experience using software programs such as, but not limited to,
Excel, inventory control, package custody tracking, paperless form
processing, and online public sales.
7. Excellent customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
8. Experience working in a high paced receiving and/or inventory
management department in higher education.
9. Experience with the use of material handling equipment, pallet
jackets, dollies and be familiar with package tracking numbering
systems, scanners, and receiving documents.
10. Experience with reconciling inventories, keeping inventory
control records, and producing reports.
11. Ability to apply independent judgement, discretion, and
initiative, to address difficult problems with creative
solutions.
