Position Overview:
Reporting into the Quality & Accreditation Department, the Quality
& Patient Safety Analyst III is responsible for analysis of Sutter
Health Plan's (SHP) annual Healthcare Effectiveness Data and
Information Set (HEDIS) measures and various clinical quality
reports. This position works closely with the Quality Manager,
Quality & Patient Safety Director, Data and Analytics Department,
HEDIS Data Vendor and HEDIS Auditor to refine requirements, develop
new, or re-design, and deploy high-quality, accessible data queries
and reports in support of quality improvement initiatives. Two
years knowledge (preferred) of clinical quality reporting, HEDIS
and/or Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA) measure technical
specifications and possess the ability to replicate measure
algorithms. Two years of experience with report writing and
statistical software such as SAS, SQL, SPSS, Minitab preferred.
This team member must have independent skills to track HEDIS
measure results monthly from the vendor, evaluate data quality and
consistency in design, development and distribution of reports and
analyses. Responsible for collecting, extracting and aggregating
information from various systems, health plan claims/enrollment,
hospital and/or ambulatory quality and financial data repositories
and performing analysis to provide meaningful information to
stakeholders. Must be able to manipulate Excel output into static
and dynamic visualizations and presentations. Two years of
experience with visualization software such as Power BI or Tableau
preferred. As applicable, supports the accurate and timely
submission of data to SHP stakeholders, leadership teams, HEDIS
auditor, HEDIS vendor and external organizations (e.g., National
Committee for Quality Assurance and Integrated Healthcare
Association, CA Department of Managed Healthcare, Transunion,
and/or IHA).
Job Description:
EDUCATION Bachelor's: Informatics, a health science related field
or other related field. or equivalent education/experience
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN: 2 years experience
in Information System database management, programming and/or query
development 2 years experience working in a healthcare setting
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Knowledge of database architecture and
management and data extraction methods required. In-depth
experience with Quality, Risk and Case Management modules, and/or
Epic EHR or the equivalent. Experience with Statit PPR, Statit
PiMD, Tableau, Crystal Report Writer and/or Allscripts. Advanced
SQL knowledge and experience. Advanced skill with presentations,
word processing and spreadsheet applications with an advanced
knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required. Must be advanced in
MS Excel. Advanced analytical skills with the ability to collect,
analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with
attention to detail and accuracy. Experience with statistical
methodology is required. Knowledge of health care operations, and
health care (ICD 10, CPT and/or DRG) coding with a focus on quality
management and care coordination services in acute and non-acute
outpatient settings. Includes structure, department-specific
policies and procedures and workflows. Requires teamwork,
organizational and communication skills. ability to be involved in,
and prioritize multiple projects at the same time in a rapidly
changing environment is a must. Must have the ability to interact
with all levels of employees and medical staff as well as interface
directly with external agencies and organizations. Must have
ability to organize, interpret and present data effectively;
creatively and effectively problem-solve, good decision-making
skills. Leadership, communication and teaching / training skills.
Pay Range: 41.64-62.46
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted
range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted
for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where
the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several
factors including but not limited to a candidate's experience,
education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity,
training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of
the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles
