This position assumes the leading role for electrical design for new projects as well as renovations and plant expansions. Manages and coordinates organization-wide efforts to ensure that plant automation systems are kept up-to-date, and that intellectual property (in the form of machinery programming) is safeguarded. This role is needed to drive continuous improvement in our factories; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, and over three years of experience with advance knowledge in electrical engineering, obtainable usually through a combination of experience and continuing education; Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Requires a broad knowledge of precedents in the specialty area and a solid knowledge of principles and practices of related technical areas.Requires a broad knowledge of the application of engineering to plant constructability as applied to construction methods and materials, and the economics involved.AutoCADElectrical analysis software familiarity (i.E., ETAP, Easy Power, Dapper/Captor).Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite.Knowledgeable in National Fire Protection Association/National Electrical Code (NFPA/NEC)Must have a valid driver's license and passportPredictable, and Regular attendance is requiredPhysical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; Reach with hands and arms; Talk and listen; Stand, walk, and sit.Occasionally required to bend at the waist; Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Up to 50% travel time required by air or car.Predictable, and Regular attendance is requiredWork Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.Office environment with moderate noise.Manufacturing environment with hazards typically associated with concrete, clay, or plastics processing (must comply with safe work methods outlined in Basalite's IIPP)Refer to location-specific Job Hazard Analyses for tasks and equipment associated with maintenance and engineering support in the factoryExtreme temperatures.Wear mandatory and/or other appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).Work near moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places, outdoor weather conditions, heat or cold (non-weather) conditions, risk of electrical shock, exposure to dust.This is a regular, full-time position with competitive compensation and full benefits including medical/dental insurance, disability benefits, life insurance, 401(k), profit sharing retirement plan, and wellness programs.
