\n\n Description: \n\n \n\n Position Summary: \n\n \n\n Penske Logistics is looking for warehouse associates to become part of an excellent team. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are safety conscious and have a pleasant, outgoing attitude who want to excel in a warehouse environment. \n\n \n\n Shift: \n\n \n\n - Location operates 24 hours / day, 7 days / week. Must be flexible to work either shift as noted below. \n\n \n\n - Will work either front half or back half of the week. However these shifts may change due to specific operational needs \n\n \n\n - Shift 1: 9:00 a.m. start Friday - Tuesday with Wednesday & Thursday off \n\n \n\n - Shift 2: 9:00 a.m. start Tuesday - Saturday with Sunday and Monday off \n\n \n\n Compensation: $17.04 / hour plus paid OT \n\n \n\n Major Responsibilities: \n\n \n\n Job requirements may include the following where applicable: \n\n \n\n ? Accurately match numbers & letters \n\n \n\n ? Accurately stage and sort products for loading \n\n \n\n ? Loads and unloads trailers \n\n \n\n ? Opens and closes dock doors \n\n \n\n ? Maintain a clean and safe work area \n\n \n\n ? Sorts and places parts in racks or other designated areas \n\n \n\n ? Pulling of manual dock chain \n\n \n\n ? Stacks cardboard boxes and pallets \n\n \n\n ? Move materials within the warehouse \n\n \n\n ? Complies with all safety requirements \n\n \n\n ? Package or kit finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling) \n\n \n\n ? Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system \n\n \n\n ? Quality control \n\n \n\n ? Ensure damaged products are identified and removed when received \n\n \n\n ? Complete daily logs \n\n \n\n ? Communicate with associates from other shifts \n\n \n\n ? Attach identifying tags to containers, or mark them with identifying information \n\n \n\n ? Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs \n\n \n\n ? Record numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets \n\n \n\n ? Assemble product containers and crates, using hand tools and precut lumber \n\n \n\n ? Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers \n\n \n\n ? Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed \n\n \n\n ? Sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated rooms \n\n \n\n ? Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line \n\n \n\n ? Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department \n\n \n\n ? Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards \n\n \n\n ? Uses computer to enter records \n\n \n\n ? Prepares parcels for mailing \n\n \n\n ? Maintains inventory records \n\n \n\n ? Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and a variety of warehouse mechanical equipment (where applicable) \n\n \n\n ? Operate forklifts or pallet jacks to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment (where applicable) \n\n \n\n ? Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor \n\n \n\n Qualifications: \n\n \n\n Qualifications: \n\n \n\n ? At least 1 year of warehousing or material-handling (using hand/power tools and hand truck) equipment experience required \n\n \n\n ? High school diploma or equivalent preferred \n\n \n\n ? Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required \n\n \n\n ? Ability to work independently, customer service, dealing with others, multi-tasking skills, organizational skills, flexibile, excellent with numbers and time management skills required \n\n \n\n ? Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook required (where applicable by location) \n\n \n\n ? Flexible to work overtime preferred \n\n \n\n ? Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions required \n\n \n\n ? Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job \n\n \n\n ? Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required. \n\n \n\n This position is designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required.
