The Department of Medical Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is a
large, diverse, multi-site department whose mission is to create a
healthier world through bold innovation in public health,
technology, and research.
Salary Range : $20.74 to $24.75

THIS IS NOT AN H-1 B OPPORTUNITY
-Basic knowledge in histotechnology, including tissue processing,
cryostat and microtome sectioning.
-Laboratory skills necessary for proper chemical solution
preparation and use of precision equipment.
-Knowledge in neuroanatomy.
-Knowledge of immunohistochemistry principles and practice.
-Knowledge to perform a variety of immunostains and have the
ability to design immunohistochemistry protocols tailored to each
antibody, troubleshoot and produce high quality slides.
-Skill in isolating specific types of brain cells using
-Experience with the use of photo camera and digital imaging
equipment, film and flatbed scanners, and digital cameras.
-Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and preferably Adobe
-Knowledge of lab management and safety protocol.
-Ability to organize work, maintain quality control inventory and
-Good communication skills and ability to instruct students
participating in internships.

The Staff Research Associate I will work under the direction of Dr.
Zarbalis. The individual will be in a team of researchers for
studying neurodevelopmental disorders related to congenital brain
