Student Assistant - Radio Communications Unit

The California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation (CDCR) is
seeking to hire a student assistant. The student assistant will
provide an administrative role requiring the use of various
database applications for the tracking, inventory, and
implementation of the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)
database for the Radio Replacement and Modernization Project
(RRAMP) statewide implementation.
This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position.
Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is
dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc.
and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises,
Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment
relationship at will, with or without cause.
Depending on the type of position you are applying for, a

Must be a college student attending classes during the regular term
(Fall, Spring and Winter, if applicable), at one of the accredited
colleges or universities on our affiliation list.

Students must be enrolled in at least: six-semester units or nine
quarter units for undergraduate students; four-semester units or
six quarter units for graduate students.

Computer Information Systems, Computer Science and Engineering,

Student Assistant and Graduate Assistant employees generally work
up to 24 hours per workweek (Sunday - Saturday) during the academic
year and up to 40 hours per workweek during breaks; (winter,
spring, and summer).

machines. Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist staff with the assembly of radio accessories for the
various Public Safety radio units and ensure their operation.
- Assist staff with the in-flow of Service Tickets for radio
repair, programming, procurement, warranty- related issues, and
- Perform specific operational checks of radio equipment features
prior to deployment.
- Inventory control functions, to include processing goods
receipts and asset tagging, disseminating data file copies to
Property Controllers at divisions, and shipping radio equipment to
all CDCR Divisions, vendors, and other State agencies.
- Assist with the administration of SharePoint files, Excel
spreadsheets, filing, department's goal to go green by scanning
documents and data entry.
