TRC Northern California - Sacramento Construction Inspection Materials region is currently seeking Senior Quality Assurance Welding Inspectors specialized in power, water and transportation weld inspections combined with non-destructive testing and coatings inspections.
General Responsibilities include:

• 
  
• Familiarity with AWS, ASME, AWWA Specifications and related documents
  
• Knowledgeable in construction materials inspection and testing (CMT) programs and the roles of Quality Control and Quality Assurance.
  
• Familiarity with Construction Materials Standards, Specifications and Codes (AWWA, ASTM, AWS, ASME, SSPC)
  
• Ability to review plans, specifications and project special provisions to verify material quality compliance
  
• Ability to represent client in pre-construction, pre-fabrication and other applicable construction meetings regarding material quality contract requirements.
  
• Ability to work with other fabrication, construction and quality personnel as part of the verification process to ensure quality standards are being met either at the project site or fabrication facility
  
• Familiarity with sampling and testing of construction materials (structural steel, other steel products, bridge components) in accordance with project standards and specifications
  
• Ability to write technical reports with photographs
  
• Ability to develop and maintain client relations
  
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
  
• Proficient in Word Processing, Spreadsheet and Portable Document Formats (PDF)
  
• Understanding reviewing of fabrication shop plans
  
• Ability to travel domestically from California Offices for short periods to material fabrication facilities
  
• Good Driving Record (will be verified through CA DMV)
  QA Weld Inspector Requirements:
  
  • 
    
  • Proficient in structural steel, bolting, welding, and fracture critical material.
    
  • Working knowledge of AWS D1.1, AWS D1.2 (aluminum), AWS D1.6 (stainless). Familiar with AWS D1.5, ASME VIII, ASME IX, API 1104.
    
  • American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)-will be verified through www.aws.org
    
  • 10 years minimum project experience (water infrastructure, power industry, transportation, bridge construction, construction materials testing a plus)
    
  • Multiple SNT-TC-1A Level II certifications for the following nondestructive testing (NDT) disciplines is a plus:
    
    
    • 
      
    • Ultrasonic Testing (UT) - Previous Certification Required
      
    • Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) - Previous Certification Required
      
    • Dye Penetrant Testing (PT) - Previous Certification Required
      
    • Radiographic Testing (RT) Film Interpretation a plus
      
    • Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) a plus
      
      
      • 
        
      • Knowledgeable in coating application and testing requirements. NACE Level 2 Certification is a plus
        
      • ICC Certifications for Structural Steel and Bolting, Welding are a plus.
        
        Compensation:
        In accordance with CA law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $55/hr. -$81/hr. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
