Summary
This position is located in the Department of the Chief Executive
Officer, AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) in
Sacramento, CA.
NCCC is a full-time, team-based residential program for men and
women ages 18-26. The program is designed to strengthen communities
and develop leaders through direct, team-based national and
community service. Corps members are assigned to one of four
campuses, located in Denver, CO; Sacramento, CA; Vicksburg, MS; and
Vinton, IA.

Duties
The Program Associate provides a variety of administrative,
logistical and technical support to facilitate the work flow of the
Region to which assigned. Responsibilities include supporting the
programs and operations of the Region by accomplishing such
activities as: scheduling and arranging meetings, assisting with
travel arrangements, conducting research, preparing correspondence
and communications, and accomplishing general administrative
activities. Primary duties include:
* Coordinates a wide range of logistical requirements that support
administration and operations in general.
* May execute recruitment and outreach activities and/or conduct
briefings or training sessions.
* Conducts general research and completes an array of assignments
in support of mission accomplishment.
* Works in online data management systems to compile reports.
* Provides general administrative support for the Region to
include: ordering supplies, ensuring equipment is in working order,
and establishing and maintaining subject matter files.
* Makes logistical arrangements for meetings and events like
scheduling meeting room, preparing agendas, and producing meeting
or conference materials, as necessary.
* Prepares letters, reports, briefing and presentation materials
and other documents utilizing a range of software programs with a
particular emphasis of Microsoft Office Suite.
* Contributes as a team member to the development, support and
implementation of special initiatives.
* Schedules travel and prepares vouchers.

Qualifications
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience comparable
in scope and responsibility to at least the upper range of the
NY-01 pay band, which would be at or equivalent to, the GS-6 level
in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is that which has
equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and
abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and
that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be
filled. Specialized experience includes: 1) updating and
maintaining data system(s); 2) work experience making arrangement
for conferences and training sessions; 3) proficiency with
spreadsheet and word processing software; and 4) work experience
providing general administrative support for an organization.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including
volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace
Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional;
philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and
skills can provide valuable training and experience that translates
directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for qualifying
experience, including volunteer experience.
Such experience must be clearly documented in the applicant's
resume.
Education
If you are qualifying based on education alone, you must have one
full year of graduate level education or superior academic
achievement as defined by being in the upper third of your
graduating class; or possessing a 3.0 GPA or higher over four years
of education; or possessing a 3.5 GPA or higher during final 2
years of education. Such education must be from an accredited
institution and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities
necessary to perform the work. You must submit an unofficial copy
of your college transcript. You must submit evidence that any
education completed in a foreign institution is equivalent to U.S.
educational standards.
Additional information
If you are a male applicant who was born after 12/31/59 and are
required to register under the Military Selective Service Act, the
Defense Authorization Act of 1986 requires that you be registered
or you are not eligible for appointment in this agency.
Veteran's Preference: If you are claiming 5-point or 10-point

As required by Executive Order 14043, all Federal employees are
required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 no later than
November 22, 2021, regardless of the employee's duty location or

This Term Appointment will initially be for a four-year period, but
may be extended for a total of five years. Should the need arise,
this position may be made permanent without further
competition.
As an employee on a Term Appointment, you will not acquire
competitive status and you will not be covered by the agency's
Interchange Agreement with the Office of Personnel Management,
which allows for noncompetitive transfer from AmeriCorps (formerly
CNCS) to other agencies in the competitive service of the federal
