Position Summary
Under the general direction of the Physical Security & IT Manager,
the incumbent is primarily responsible at varying levels for
technical system support and capabilities, including the
installation, maintenance, modification, and repair of equipment,
products, and/or systems. Technical systems may be
electromechanical or computerized (e.g., computer and peripheral
equipment, telecommunications and network devices, audio and video
equipment, Broadband Radio systems, Body Worn Cameras, and related
transmission equipment and systems) and typically are integrated
with or interconnected to larger systems. The incumbent may also
have a role as a technical/ hardware user support
representative.
FLSA:
Non-Exempt - This position is covered by health benefits, and is
non-exempt, (eligible for overtime compensation) according to the
Fair Labor Standards Act.
CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,625 - $7,216 per month
Hiring Range: $3,625 - $4,282 per month
Recruitment Type: Regular (probationary)
Time Base: Full-Time
Pay Plan: 12 months
Work Hours: Alternative Schedule (4 days/10 hours) - Monday -
Thursday: 8:00am - 6:00pm or Tuesday - Friday: 8:00am - 6:00pm.
Shift to be determined by management at time of hire.

Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this position, a functional foundation of
knowledge and skills in technical systems, computer science and
equipment is a prerequisite. This foundation would normally be
obtained through experience in computer science, electronics,
telecommunications, or industrial technology or equivalent
education, training, and related experience. Career knowledge and
skills for the Equipment/Systems Specialist include a skillful and
proficient knowledge of computer science, electronic (digital or
analog) theories, mechanical design, and understanding of the
operation and use of the equipment and systems commonly utilized in
the assigned area.
Further progress within this classification is based on department
need and work assignments requiring higher levels of skills and
knowledge.
Required Qualifications
14. Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students and
managers in a diverse environment.
Preferred Qualifications
15. Demonstrated ability to install, configure and modify Axon Body
Worn Cameras system hardware and software, including demonstrated
ability to provide support for users with AXON applications.
16. Skillful knowledge and ability to use Broadband Radio system
features and configurations as applicable to equipment in the
county area.
17. Experience in a higher-education setting, which demonstrates
responsibility for customer service to staff and/or students.
18. Knowledge of telecommunications, networking and network
topologies
19. Knowledge of other related camera makers systems and brands
20. Working with an IT Ticketing System
21. Experience with access control and fire systems
22. Bachelor's Degree in related field (Criminal Justice or
Computer Science).

Valid driver's license and maintenance of safe driving record
required
