Position Summary
Under the general direction of the senior staff of the Conferences, Training, and Organizational Development (CTOD) unit at the College of Continuing Education (CCE), the Project Support Coordinator is responsible for the support, coordination, and the delivery of educational services and programs for employers and organizations, including trainings, events, and other education projects. Typical work performed by the incumbent includes providing support to senior staff on project planning: perform project execution by working with clients and stakeholder to identify and meet requirements; coordinate logistics; provide support during training events; track and monitor deliverables including client and learner feedback, training expenses and project hours. The Project Support Coordinator is part of the CTOD unit with over 40 staff that aims to provide transformative opportunities for clients to solve organizational challenges by providing educational services and programs that lead to actionable solutions and sustainable outcome. A commitment to quality and to providing the highest level of customer service possible are also requisites for this position.
FLSA: Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)

CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,505 - $5,508 per month

Hiring Range: Commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.

Salary Grade/Range: Grade 1

Recruitment Type: Temporary (Annually Renewable)

Time Base: Full-Time

Pay Plan: 12 months

Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM, work hours may vary dependent on department operations

Department Information

The College of Continuing Education (CCE) extends the mission of the university by increasing access for non-traditional learners. With a primary expertise on serving adult learners, CCE provides programs and services to individuals and employers year-round, unbound by traditional semester schedules and formats. CCE serves a hybrid student body that extends beyond California, serving over 80,000 learners annually through in-person, hybrid and fully online workshops, courses, conferences, certificate and degree programs.

Minimum Qualifications

Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite. These entry qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.

Required Qualifications
Experience:

  • Experience providing clerical and administrative support functions
  • Experience in the coordination of events such as trainings, meetings, conferences, and/or trips
  • Experience in creating basic promotional and marketing tools such as flyers, surveys, etc.
  • Experience working with database and data entry with high accuracy
  • Experience using standard office software programs Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures
  • Ability to perform standard business math, such as calculate ratios and percentages, track financial data, and make simple projections
  • Ability to draft and compose correspondence and standard reports
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of staff and external constituencies
  • Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skill
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Organizational and time management skills to manage, implement, prioritize and multi-task, meet goals and deadlines
  • Team oriented Other Requirements:
  • Ability to work in evenings and weekends as needed
  • Ability to travel locally and statewide with overnight stays to off-site locations per the essential functions of the position Condition of Employment:
