Job Description:
The mission of the Mexican American Opportunity Foundation
(MAOF) is to provide for the socio-economic betterment of the
greater Latino community of California, while preserving the pride,
values and heritage of the Mexican American culture.Job Title:
Project SpecialistDepartment: Resource & Referral
(R&R)CCIP/ARPA ProgramFLSA Status: Non Exempt Part Time (28
hours per week)Supervised by: R& R Program ManagerSUMMARY:Under
general supervision, the Project Specialist will provide assistance
and support with the implementation of the Child Care Initiative
Project (CCIP ARPA funding) for the R& R Program. Additionally,you
will outreach and recruit participants; maintain participant files
and tracking systems; prepares data for project reports; assists in
the coordination of orientations and trainings; conducts pre and
post-licensing site visits; establish and leverage community
partnerships; and disseminate child care/business resources
tailored to participant needs.RESPONSIBILITIES:1.Engage in outreach
and recruitment activities for CCIP Project participants including
assessment of licensing/capacity building readiness.2.Assist in the
planning and facilitation of meetings, orientations, trainings, and
Family, Friend and Neighbor activities3.Monitor, schedule and
conduct pre and post licensing home visits and provide technical
assistance to project participants, as identified.4.Collect and
document confidential data and information on project participants.
Maintain general paper and electronic filing systems of project
documentation, correspondence, recruitment, and training
activities.5.Order project supplies, track budget expenditures,
compose memos and other correspondence, answer phones and manage
e-mail.6.Prepare data for periodic status reports as required by
special projects' contracts or internal audit procedures as needed,
monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and/or annual basis.7.Travel to and
attend project trainings, workshops and meetings, as required by
contractor and/or agency leadership.8.Keep abreast of legislative
issues and regulatory changes affecting license-exempt, licensed
child care providers, and the child care landscape.9.Develop and
conduct presentations to community groups or organizations, as
needed.10.Work with other department staff and other agency
departments to connect services to parents and providers.11.Perform
other duties as assigned by R& R managerQualifications:1.Minimum 1
year of experience working with child care programs, social support
services, or any relatable transferrable skills, with a minimum one
year of experience in an administrative or clerical support
position.2.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to
handle challenging client calls or requests.3.Excellent verbal,
written, and presentation/training skills.4.Relevant work
experience in human/social services or child development may be
substituted for college level education.5.Must have knowledge of
the early childhood education field.6.Broad application of program
knowledge.7.Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.8.Must be able to
work effectively with clients, staff members, and
consultants.9.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom and other
applications/databases a plus.10.Must have the ability to exercise
initiative, self-discipline and efficient thought processes to
complete job responsibilities with minimal supervision.11.Ability
to work independently with minimum supervision.12.Flexible and able
to manage multiple tasks and handle changing priorities and
deadlines.13.Resourceful, optimistic, enthusiastic team
player.14.Good attendance, Monday through Friday as scheduled. Must
have the ability to work flexible days as work may include evenings
and weekends15.Ability to drive and travel.16.Sensitivity to and
ability to work well with diverse ethnic and cultural groups, and
agency leadership.ACCOUNTABILITY/SUPERVISION RECEIVED:Working under
general supervision, the employee plans, organizes and prioritizes
work following established procedures and guidelines. Ability to
work flexible days as work may include evenings and
weekends.IMPACT:Individual performance can have considerable impact
on the team and on the function and sustainability of the
department, limiting the department's ability to provide services
to child care providers and/or clients. Maintains regular contact
with external agencies/partners. Works with sensitive and
confidential information.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Must possess a valid
California driver's license, have use of a motor vehicle and
provide evidence of automobile liability insurance. Must be fully
vaccinated COVID-19 and provide evidence.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Must
be able to carry out all essential functions satisfactorily.
