Hadoop Administrator
Position Description
CGI is seeking a Hadoop Administrator to join our CGI team! You
will work as part of a team who supports and maintains high profile
platforms for State agencies. The position includes daily
interaction and coordination with CGI teams, partners and the
client agency's infrastructure team.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Responsible for the following:
Installation, configuration, patching, security, monitoring and
support of Hadoop and underling technologies/utilities.
Provide subject matter expertise on all aspects of Hadoop, such as
setup, connectivity, utility integration, etc.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• 2+ years' experience supporting Hadoop/Big Data
implementations.
• Experience with setup, support, patching of medium to large
installations of Hadoop clusters.
• Experience in Hadoop Cluster installation, configuration, and
security administration.
• Knowledge of HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, ranger, Tez, Zookeeper, Yarn,
Ambari.
• Experience in Kafka, data and log pipelines.
• Experience in ELK stack setup, support, patching, operations and
performance tuning.
• Experience with troubleshooting distributed application deployed
on the stack.
• Prepare Guides and collaborate with development teams through the
design, build, and implementation phases of system deployments.
• Documentation of installation, maintenance and operational
procedures for software and other technologies in the area of
responsibility.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/NON-ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED
• AWS or any other cloud experience.
