Overview Reynolds Advanced Materials is a distributor of liquid rubbers, liquid plastics, foams, and other materials used by artists and industrial fabricators in an endless variety of applications and industries. We currently have 13 locations across the USA. Our customers use our products to make film and stage special effects, animatronics, robotics, scale models, sculpture, prototypes, cast architectural elements, industrial parts, cast concrete, and much, much more. We are seeking the right individual to engage with customers and prospects to discuss their projects and offer our materials as solutions across Northern California and Northern Nevada. You will also participate in industry-related events such as tradeshows and local seminars hosted regularly at our Burbank, California branch location. While actively navigating this territory, you will receive full support from both our Burbank branch and the National office. The ideal individual must be self-driven, with a desire to learn about our materials and how our customers use them to create products and solutions that enable their businesses to grow and thrive. We have a robust base of business and supply weekly leads to keep you focused, motivated and constantly growing sales. Duties and Responsibilities: The Outside Sales Representative must first and foremost be committed to the knowledge of and become proficient in the use of materials sold by the company. We will train. The Outside Sales Representative will initially spend a significant amount of time in the Reynolds-Burbank location, working with materials to become proficient and confident with each material and general application. Co-travel with the existing Outside Sales Rep and National Sales Manager is required to develop an understanding of the business and strategy, be introduced to the existing customer base, and observe use of materials for various applications. The goal is to become a competent problem solver, while learning directly from the expert Outside Sales Rep and other materials experts within the Reynolds-Burbank organization. The sales territory will be Northern California and Northern Nevada with the goal of continued growth of the business with existing customers and new prospects. Researching/Cultivating Sales Leads: * We will provide sales leads for you to qualify from Inside sales techs, branch manager and Smooth-On personnel. * Grow business at existing accounts and seek new business opportunities. * Participate in trade shows as needed to meet prospects and generate leads for the local Reynolds-Burbank and other Reynolds branch locations. * Work through product technical questions to expand business at existing accounts. Manage Defined Sales Territory: * Travel to and develop a working relationship with newly acquired accounts and existing customers as designated in Northern California and Northern Nevada. * Schedule periodic follow-up calls and visits to introduce new products. Demonstrate products at customer locations as appropriate to develop business and increase sales. * Identify competitive opportunities and recommend target pricing as needed to compete for business. * Observe our material seminars that demonstrate our products and how they are used for different applications. Administration, Management and Product Knowledge: * Prepares and submits weekly customer visit reports to sales management, Reynolds personnel and Smooth-On sales personnel detailing field visit activity. * Using database, review sales of existing customers on a routine basis. Monitors sales activity and trends of all customers who purchase $500 or more annually. Prioritizing and routing visits to these customers and prospects in adjacent areas on a geographical basis. * Prepare 'Pre-call Sales Plan' for following week on Friday afternoons in accordance with RAM Sales Protocol. * Work diligently with new products to become proficient with their use, properties, and applications for the purpose of conveying information to customers to solve problems and close incremental business. * Occasionally supports inside branch operations as requested by branch manager and with the approval of the National Sales Manager. * Will ensure that company vehicle is maintained and kept in good operating condition, clean and customer presentable at all times. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Must become proficient in working with products that Reynolds sells for the purpose of imparting technical information and solving customer problems. * Must possess and demonstrate aptitude for selling Reynolds products to end users for the purpose of expanding sales. We will train. * Competent in verbal and written communications. * Must learn to efficiently travel throughout region and manage the designated accounts as appropriate. * Must know Microsoft office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as iPad, iPhone platforms. * Must learn to solve customer problems by recommending the right material for specific applications. Minimum Qualifications: * Minimum 2-years' experience with materials or outside sales. * 4-year college degree from accredited college or university. * Must be able to lift 50 or more pounds. * Must have clean driving record while employed with Reynolds Advanced Materials. Additional RequirementsEmployment is contingent on: * Applicant's consent to a background check to comply with a suitability determination from corporate management. * Signature on a company drug-free policy contract * Pass a Company provided drug test & physical * Valid Driver's License * Clean driving record * Copy of last diploma or transcript * Satisfactorily completing product training at Smooth-On, Inc. * Within three months of beginning employment, employee must demonstrate an aptitude, understanding and proficiency with products that the company sells relative to customer applications. * Applicant developing and maintaining working knowledge of products to impart accurate product technical assistance to customers for their applications.
