STAFF SERVICES MANAGER III Final Filing Date: 3/3/2021 Application Methods: Electronic (Using your CalCareer Account) By Mail Drop-off Under the general direction of the Assistant Executive Officer (AEO), the Staff Services Manager (SSM) III (Chief of Enforcement) is responsible for planning, directing, and organizing the state-wide activities of the Board of Registered Nursing's (BRN) Enforcement Division. Working Conditions The incumbent is expected to travel on occasion which requires traveling by various methods of transportation. If travel expenses are incurred, mileage will be reimbursed at the current allowable rate.

Current Salary Information
Effective July 1, 2020, in response to the economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic,-- t he California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the Personal Leave Program 2020 (PLP 2020). State employees are subject to a 9.23% salary reduction in exchange for 16 hours per month of PLP 2020. The salary information listed under Position Details does not include this salary reduction.   • STAFF SERVICES MANAGER III The Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) is a state governmental agency established by law to protect the public by regulating the practice of Registered Nurses. The BRN is responsible for implementation and enforcement of the Nursing Practice Act: The laws related to nursing education, licensure, practice and discipline.

    BRN Headquarters is located in the Natomas area, city of Sacramento. Special Requirements Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) - Title 11, Section 703(d) of the California Code of Regulations requires criminal record checks of all personnel who have access to Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI). Pursuant to this requirement, applicants for this position will be required to submit fingerprints to the Department of Justice and be cleared before hiring. In accordance to DCA's (CORI) procedures, clearance shall be maintained while employed in a CORI-designated position. Additionally, the position routinely works with sensitive and confidential issues and/or materials and is expected to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of documents and topics pertaining to individuals or to sensitive program matters at all times.

    Conflict of Interest Regulations: This position is subject to Title 16, section 3830 of the California Code of Regulations, the Department of Consumer Affairs' Conflict of Interest Regulations. The incumbent is required to submit a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) within 30 days of assuming office, annually by April 1st, and within 30 days of leaving office.
