maintain our web application, which manages millions of network
devices from our cloud. Our customers use the Meraki dashboard to
monitor and configure critical IT infrastructure that serves tens
of millions of people every single day.As a Technical Leader in the
Meraki product Dashboard team, you will collaborate with firmware
engineers to design, plan, and build new features for our
customers. With the help of product managers and UX designers, you
will construct intuitive and powerful workflows to solve important
problems for IT professionals around the world.Meraki's product
Dashboard teams are small, fast-moving teams striving to make our
products unique in balancing their feature-rich abilities and their
simplicity. You'll be developing the tools by which our customers
configure and monitor network devices all over the world. Our
full-stack engineers are well-versed in a wide array of CS concepts
and excited to jump around languages, platforms, and all levels of
the Meraki stack!What you will do:
- Lead by example and are a hands-on architect building systems
alongside a team.
- Drive complex projects and lead a team of engineers to build
and deploy critically important, 24x7 solutions in a SaaS
environment.
- Build the design and development of the REST API endpoints,
ensuring scalability, security, performance and reliability.
- Work closely with the Frontend, Backend and Mobile teams, along
with PM and UX to build consensus and define requirements for
database and API schemas.
- Contribute to a high-performance web application across
multiple platforms ensuring seamless and intuitive user
experience.
- Cultivate a culture of craftsmanship where development and
quality engineers work together to deliver a high-quality
experience throughout the entire product lifecycle.
- Working with collaborators to set product vision, define, and
deliver on technical roadmaps spanning multiple organizations or
teams.You are an ideal candidate if you:
- Have 7+years of experience in designing, developing and testing
enterprise-class web applications.
- Experience in object oriented programming with focus on backend
systems, database design, building rich web UIs with React and
Redux or similar frameworks.
- Experience with modern application development methodologies
(CI/CD, Agile/DevOps)
- An interest in getting consensus and setting technical
direction across engineering organizations.
- Experience in building from scratch and/or evolving large web
applications.
- Deeply skilled in backend web technologies and languages (e.g.
Javascript, Kafka, Kubernetes, Ruby/Rails, Scala)
- Knowledgeable with distributed systems development, container &
container orchestration technologies and microservices
architecture.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to
mentor and coach team members.Bonus points for any of the
following:
- Experience building cloud-based infrastructure and
services.
- Exposure to IOT frameworks, data visualization
