Position Summary
Under the general direction of the Director of Benefits Services,
the incumbent serves as the ADA Analyst for employees within all
university divisions and departments, including all represented
faculty and staff employees, Management Personnel, non-represented
staff, and student employees. Incumbent provides expert advice to
the Senior Associate Vice President of Human Resources and the
Director of Benefits Services as a principle source of analysis and
information related to reasonable accommodation administration.
The incumbent serves as the primary resource for employees within
all university divisions and departments, including all represented
faculty and staff employees, Management Personnel, non-represented
staff, and student employees with regard to reasonable
accommodation administration. Incumbent provides administrative and
program leadership and oversees the day-to-day operations of the
Benefits Office related to reasonable accommodation administration.
Counsel and educate employees and supervisors/managers through the
accommodation process, using discretion and confidentiality, while
securely retaining all records. Responsible for researching legal,
regulatory, and/or programmatic changes, and providing direction
and advice to recommend new or revised business process and
procedures to ensure compliance with applicable internal and
external requirements, and minimize the University's exposure to
risk. Performance of these functions requires a high-level
initiative, independent judgement, discretion and confidentiality,
and expert knowledge of federal and state regulation, CSU and
campus-specific policy and procedures, and all CSU collective
bargaining agreements pertaining to reasonable accommodation and
disability leaves administration.
The position requires critical thinking, analytical research,
problem solving, and conflict resolution skills when responding to
complex benefit related questions regarding rules and regulations
mandated by state and federal disability laws, CSU policy and
collective bargaining agreement language.
Incumbent will be required to develop and implement improved
business processes and develop and conduct campus
training/workshops. Serves as a functional team member on campus
and system-wide HR information systems team, and subject matter
expert for reasonable accommodation administration and all future
HR modules/systems.
The Benefits Office experiences a high volume of walk-in traffic,
telephone calls and e-mails, and the position works in a deadline
driven environment with frequent interruptions while independently
prioritizing job duties. The incumbent is expected to work under
pressure with frequent interruptions while independently
prioritizing assignments to meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills and professionalism are required as
this position is the primary contact for all university employees.
The duties performed by this position involve receiving, providing
and maintaining information that is confidential or sensitive in
nature.
FLSA: Exempt (not eligible for overtime conversation under the Fair
Labor Standards Act) The position is eligible for benefits,
including health benefits.
CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,022 - $9,083 per month
Hiring Range: $5,022 - $9,083 per month
Salary Grade/Range: 3

Pay Plan: 12 months
Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; additional hours
as required. This position may be eligible for a partial
telecommuting work schedule.

The Office of Human Resources supports the goals and objectives of
the University through the development, implementation, and
maintenance of human resource programs, policies, and processes
which include the recruitment, development, and retention of
diverse, competent, and talented professional and staff personnel.
Our skilled staff is available to provide you with professional and
timely information, advice and counsel in the areas of benefits,
classification/compensation, recruitment, employee and labor
relations, payroll, and learning & development. The Benefits Office
administers health benefits, retirement programs, disability
leaves, and reasonable accommodations for all Sacramento State
employees (faculty, staff, and management).
Minimum Qualifications
Entry to this classification requires general knowledge and skills
in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a
foundational knowledge of public administration principles,
practices, and methods. This foundation would normally be obtained
through a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and
administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or
evaluation leading to the development or improvement of
administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.

administration.
23.Knowledge of PeopleSoft and/or other human resources information
systems (HRIS).
