Job DescriptionDesign, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.ResponsibilitiesThe Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team delivers mission-critical applications for world-class enterprises around the world. We are looking for a tech-savvy, network focused leader to continue our rapid growth by managing and growing a motivated, collaborative team of top-notch talent!The Sr Software Architect will be responsible for the evaluation, proposal, and architecture of a comprehensive circuit inventory, workflow and expense management solution for OCI Network Planning and Networking. This person will be responsible to build the strategy and solution to digitize OCIs 3rd party spend management, change management, quote to cash process, circuit inventory management, circuit lifecycle management, and associated implementation processes. The role will be focused on Networking, but the impact of a successful solution will also impact Data Center inventory and lifecycle management. This role will also be responsible to evaluate current systems to either retire, enhance, or integrate with the proposed solution. This role will report to the VP of Network Capacity & Planning within the Networking Organization and will be responsible to:

  • Evaluate current ecosystem of circuit inventory data and lifecycle management tools
  • Establish a systems roadmap for the application(s) covering inventory, lifecycle management, quote to cash, implementation, procurement, etc.
  • Work cross functionally, including Network planning, capacity planning, finance, Data Center, Engineering, and delivery to finalize MVP requirements and long term enhancement goals
  • Partner with OCI Networking and cross functional leaders to provide input into the roadmap, and to identify and deliver business process and application enhancements and automation
  • Outline a clear build vs. buy vs. reuse business case and present recommendation to executive leadership for a long term, scalable solution that meets OCIs financial and operational objectives
  • Architect final solution and outline all development phases and milestones
  • Provide technology thought leadership and potentially lead the implementation team. Translate and prioritize business goals into achievable roadmaps, milestones, project plans, KPIs and overall execution of delivery strategy and plans
  • Drive innovation through observation of common platform problems to identify emerging needs and pain points, alternative or emerging solutions, and opportunities for improving stability of existing service-related solutions and integrations
  • Partner closely with the product owners (internal or external) of the selected solution to ensure business requirements are clear and prioritized appropriatelyEducation And Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field required; Masters degree preferred
    • 10 or more years of experience customizing ERP solutions (Oracle or others)
    • 5 or more years IT management experience
    • Well developed, executive-level critical thinking and communication skills, written and oral, with the ability to translate initiatives to a wide variety of stakeholder groups within, and outside, the organization
    • Extensive experience in strategic planning, budgeting, project planning and resource allocation
    • Significant experience in overall ERP Operations environment
    • Experience with process modeling, work redesign, and ROI initiatives
    • Ability to manage relationships with a range of stakeholders including executive sponsors, department leadership, and business/system analysts
    • Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
