Job Title: Human Resource AssistantDepartment: Operations/HR
ManagementReports to: Human Resources ManagerFLSA Status:
Non-Exempt, Full TimeWages Range: $24.00 to $25.00 per hour (Annual
Salary equivalent $50,000 to $52,000 per year)This role supports
the Human Resources department with day-to-day human resource
administration, recruiting and payroll duties and provides general
HR support to the HR Manager and staff members. The position
requires attention to detail, strong organization skills, and
demonstrates a high degree of confidentiality. The Human Resource
Assistant requires a self-starter who works well
independently.Human Resources & Recruiting duties include, but are
not limited to:Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of
the recruitment process across a variety of open roles helping
management find, hire, and retain quality talent.Collaborates with
department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job
descriptions and hiring criteria.Identifies and implements
efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on
the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the
organization.Assists with job posting and advertisement
processes.Attends job fairs and other potential marketing events to
recruit qualified staff and acts as main recruiting contact.Answers
frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative
to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more
complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or
management.Assists with resume reviews, phone screenings,
scheduling of interviews and reference checks as needed.Once a
hiring decision is made, will reach out to candidate to conduct
required background checks. Will monitor background check agencies
for completion and inform managers and candidate when such
requirements are complete and re-confirm start date with
candidate.Assists with onboarding and exiting of employees as
necessary.Assist with updating COVID-19 policies, update tracking
log and send out COVID-19 notifications as needed.Acts as the
primary back-up to the Payroll Specialist and will assist with the
preparation and processing of bi-monthly payroll for two companies
(80+ employees) as needed when Payroll Specialist is unavailable or
needs assistance, which may include processing termination checks
or bonus checks outside of the normal payroll cycle.Maintain and
update Human Resource Information System (HRIS) related database
and employment records including but not limited to status changes,
tax withholdings, voluntary and involuntary deductions,
etc.Understand personnel policies to assist with human resource
matters.Assists HR Manager with onboarding and exiting of employees
as necessary.Assists the HR Manager with the annual performance
review process, including processing approved merit wage changes to
employees' HRIS files.Assist employees with resolving issues and/or
sending out staff notices relating to the payroll/HRIS system, the
Online Benefit portal and/or the 401K Retirement plan.Assist with
maintaining and updating SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) for
payroll processing and other associated functions.Assist with
year-end W2 audit/corrections and distribution if needed.Assist
with preparing responses for unemployment, SDI, benefit audits,
employment verifications and/or wage verifications as
needed.Assists HR Manager with the Open Enrollment process and
finalize all Open Enrollment deduction changes in Paylocity.Conduct
and collect staff survey information regarding employee morale,
along with incentive and benefit program thoughts and
preferences.Maintain all personnel files, both electronic and hard
copy, assuring all documents are filedAssists HR Manager with
miscellaneous HR related work as assigned.No Supervisory
responsibilities.
Requirements:
EducationHigh School Diploma or GED RequiredBachelor's degree in
related field preferred but not requiredExperience1 - 5 year of
human resources / administrative experience

resident locations within a 60-mile radius of the work site with
