Work Location – Clinic/Outpatient Job Description A Linda based
client is seeking an experienced Pediatrician to provide excellent
primary care services to patients from age 0 to 19 years old. An
ideal candidate is a leader who works well collaboratively, values
evidence-based practice, and values patient centered care. This
candidate should be comfortable treating children and discussing
outcomes with children and families. Required Qualifications
Graduated from an accredited medical school with a MD or DO degree
Current California medical license Completed an accredited
residency program Current DEA certificate Board certified or board
eligible pediatrics Current CPR certification Responsibilities
Examine children regularly to assess their growth and development
Treat children who have minor illnesses, acute and chronic health
problems, and growth and development concerns Collect, record, and
maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports, and
examination results Provide narrative summaries in EMR to
communicate patient information to other health care providers
Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication,
vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent
illness, disease, or injury in infants and children Examine
patients or order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests to
obtain information on medical condition and determine diagnosis
Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication,
vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent
illness, disease, or injury Advise patients, parents or guardians
concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention Explain
procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with
patients and parents or guardians Monitor patients' conditions and
progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary Plan and execute
medical care programs to aid in the mental and physical growth and
development of children and adolescents Refer patients to medical
specialists or other practitioners when necessary Coordinate work
with nurses, social workers, rehabilitation therapists,
pharmacists, psychologists, and other health care providers Direct
and coordinate activities of students, assistants, and other
medical staff Plan, implement, or administer health programs or
standards in hospitals, businesses, or communities for prevention
or treatment of injury or illness Write prescriptions for
antibiotics or other medications Use masks, gloves and safety
glasses to protect themselves and their patients from infectious
