community to call home. Nuclear Medicine Physician Role Overview:
The Nuclear Medicine Physician provides comprehensive nuclear
medicine services to veterans, ensuring continuity of care within a
multidisciplinary healthcare team. Reporting to the Chief of
Radiology, the provider is a key clinical member within the medical
center. The provider will be responsible for the assessment and
care of new and returning patients requiring nuclear medicine
procedures. Responsibilities include performing and interpreting
nuclear medicine procedures, consultations, and follow-up care,
both for inpatients and outpatients. The provider will also
participate in multidisciplinary team conferences, quality
improvement initiatives, and educational activities.
Responsibilities Include: Veteran-Centered Care: Deliver
comprehensive nuclear medicine services with an emphasis on health
maintenance, disease prevention, patient education, and management
of diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures. Promote
shared decision-making with veterans and their families to achieve
optimal health outcomes. Clinical Excellence: Interpret, report,
and/or perform a wide range of imaging radiological procedures and
provide nuclear medicine therapies such as Pluvicto treatment as
needed. Review and protocol new routine, inpatient, and urgent
incoming nuclear medicine orders. Refer patients to other staff
physicians for continuation of care. Ensure the quality and
timeliness of reports for the procedures interpreted or performed
and actively participate in the department's physician peer review
process. Act as Authorized User for service when necessary. Perform
a wide range of Nuclear Medicine diagnostic interpretations of the
studies produced by the Imaging Section. Ensure the quality of the
diagnostic examinations performed by the Imaging Section. Perform a
wide range of PET CT scans, bone imaging, myocardial perfusion
imaging, brain imaging, and nuclear medicine therapy procedures
such as radioiodine ablation for thyroid diseases and Lu177 PSMA
treatment for metastatic prostate cancer. Why You Should Join Us:
