ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Sacramento, California. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 01/21/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - ICU Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM • Every other weekend requirement with minimum of 4 weekend shifts in 4-week period • First to float to other Sacramento facilities when needed • Patient ratio typically 1:2, with occasional 1:1 assignments • Care for medical/surgical ICU patients including non-STEMIs, CVAs, multi-organ failure, sepsis, respiratory failure, and post-operative complications • Must be comfortable with comfort care patients who remain in ICU • Perform bedside procedures including TEEs and bronchs • Required to read and interpret EKG strips and work with telemetry • Experience with ventilator management required • Use Cerner EMR system for documentation • Self-scheduling system with manager approval and 4-week advance schedules • Overtime and extra shifts available • 1-2 day floor orientation with preceptor • Must pass DYS exam through UNA within 24-48 hours of acceptance • Two supervisor references required at submission (one within 12 months, one within 3 years) • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS • Scrub color: Navy (undershirts must be navy, white, or black; optional navy scrub jackets) • Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment Facility: This healthcare facility operates a 12-bed intensive care unit providing comprehensive critical care services. The facility offers 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support, with hospitalists or intensivists available in-house. The ICU features advanced monitoring capabilities including telemetry and ventilator support, and regularly performs bedside procedures.
