Vista Veterinary Specialists--is looking for an experienced individual to join our team on a full-time basis.Our 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital provide care in internal medicine, critical care, radiology, and cardiology. Our modern facility offers a full in-house laboratory, digital radiography, ultrasonography, on-site CT, and endoscopy.Our compensation for this role typically falls between $20.00--and $30.20. Compensation is based on skills and experience. We offer an additional shift differential for swing and grave shifts--Shifts:-- 3-12's or 4-10's, weekend day requiredAbout the Job:--As an ER veterinary technician/ assistant in our Emergency/Critical Care department and you will be responsible for:Triaging incoming patients and managing patients/clients throughout their visit.Partnering with DVMs in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates.Utilizing different modalities of imaging for patient assessment.Executing, monitoring, and recovering all assigned sedation and anesthetic events.Surgical assisting for minor (non-specialty) procedures.Assessing hospitalized patients needs and communicating details to the DVM overseeing the case.--Inpatient treatments and nursing care throughout the shift.--Calculating and administering medication, fluid additives, CRI's--About You:A minimum of 2--years of experience working in a veterinary hospital setting is required. 1 year of ECC experience is preferred.--RVT, VTS, or VACSP preferred but not required.Comprehensive understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring.Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens and working knowledge of radiographic techniques is required.Positive outlook and ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is required.Passion for providing the highest quality in patient care.Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected.Benefits:Partnership with Purdue VT program/scholarshipsCompetitive Vet Assistant and RVT CE allowance annuallyVetBloom access: Race-approved continuing education, training, and curriculum libraryLicense application and renewal reimbursement for RVT'sFinancial support and onsite mentorship toward the pursuit of VTSHealth and wellness programs, including access to the League wellness appOpportunities for growth and advancement --40% Employee Pet discountFull-time benefits include health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurances, flex-spending accounts, 401(k), Employee Assistance Program, 3 weeks accrued paid time off, and uniformsNo waiting periods.
