Marshall Medical Center (MMC) is seeking a full-time Pulmonologist/Intensivist Physician to join our integrated team of healthcare providers. The position is Pulmonology heavy and less ICU coverage. The Pulmonology clinics are located in Placerville and Cameron Park, CA and share office space with Cardiology. Support staff includes collegial MAs, front office staff, and 3 NPs in the clinic. The selected physician will have the ability to work four days a week and practice on a community-based model with access to other specialists. The clinic schedule is flexible and shared with another Pulmonologist. The selected physician will be able to see everything they want and manage what they want, as tertiary centers are nearby for patient referrals. The desired candidate will see between 14-18 patients per day in clinic. Two thirds of the practice includes geriatric patients, while one third are asthmatic kids. The selected physician can limit the age range they see for patient care. Additionally, Marshall has well established tertiary care relations for support services, as needed.
The selected Physician is primarily responsible for providing quality care to assigned patients of MMC. MMC serves a diverse patient population with a large referral base under a stable practice model. Call requirement is 1:4, 13 weeks per year, with onsite coverage in the ICU from 8am-5pm (no clinic patients these days). Intensivist call runs from 8am - 7pm and callbacks are very rare. Marshall Nocturnists take over ICU call in the evening and Telemedicine ICU is available 24/7 for support. Hospitalists and Nocturnists are on staff for 24/7 inpatient coverage and do all ICU admissions and discharges. Additional participation includes quality assurance activities and staff meetings. The selected physician can go to any ICU codes, but it is not required.
