Plastic Surgery Physician Assistant - Night Shift
Salary Range: $75.04 - $99.02 Hourly
The Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Physician Assistant (PA) assists the team in all aspects of patient care of general plastic reconstructive surgery as well as hand/upper extremity as needed. This position involves practice in every setting of care delivery including the emergency department setting, and inpatient ward. Surgical assistance in the operating room expected on an occasional, as-needed basis. On-call duties may be required. This position will work 100% in-patient. This is a night shift position; Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, 6:00 pm - 6:00 am.
Required Qualifications--

• 5 years of surgery experience working as a Physician Assistant
  
• Graduation with a master's degree, or PhD from an accredited Physician Assistant Program
  
• California Licensed Physician Assistant (PA)
  
• Current AHA BLS/CPR Certification
  
• National certification as a Physician Assistant (NCCPA)
  
• CITI Certification within 6 month of hire
  
• DEA certificate and NPI number
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  
• Judgment skills to effectively meet the needs of patients
  
• Self-direction and organizational skills to function in an independent role
  
• Ability to cope with personal stress experienced by team members, other professionals, and caretakers
  
• Working knowledge of HIPPA regulations
  
• Knowledge of medical billing procedures and policies.
  
• Experience documenting medical records appropriately
  
• Must be able to stand for extended periods
  
• Ability to gather data; possession of computer skills; knowledge of research methods.
  
• Knowledge of medications, indications, dosage ranges, side effects, and potential toxicity.

  Preferred Qualifications--
  
  • 8 years of surgery experience working as a Physician Assistant
    
  • Ability to learn to assist in operations, performing tasks under direct supervision of the attending surgeon.
    Special Requirements--
    
    • Ability to meet minimum standards for hospital credentialing and billing standards as a billable provider
      
    • Must be able to work occasional overtime
      
    • Ability to work flexible hours
      
    • Able to lift 25 pounds, see well enough to read gauges and identify injuries
      
    • This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment
