The UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center is one of 41 NCI
designated comprehensive cancer centers in the nation. Our
specialized teams provide compassionate comprehensive care for more
than 10,00 adults and children in a year. In our clinics we have
over 29,000 patient visits in the adult clinic and over 3,300
patient visits in the pediatric oncology clinic.

The MOSC III is responsible for sustaining an environment of
intrinsic good will for the department while providing optimum
services to patients.
This position requires the skills and ability to manage the level
of responsibility and accountability necessary to provide
specialized duties for the department/clinical team for which it is
assigned. This position may also perform front office duties
consistent with that of MOSC II, per operational needs.
* Knowledge of ICD-9 (ICD-10 in future state), CPT and HCPCS coding
guidelines sufficient to accurately identify services performed,
including diagnoses, procedures, and supplies.
* Experience with health care insurance systems, which may include
Medi-Cal, MediCare, HMO, PPO, fee-for-service, county funded
coverage, and workers compensation, sufficient to properly obtain
and track authorizations, complex appointment scheduling including
treatment series and cycles.
* Experience executing complex scheduling orders such as infusion
cycles and series.
* Experience answering a high volume of calls and execute requests
in a timely manner.
* PC proficiency in using multiple system applications.
* 1-year experience with referrals and authorizations
* 1-year experience with Epic patient scheduling and coordination
* Understanding of appointment coordination with other clinics.
Understand how to make referrals for consults, diagnostics and
ancillary services, coordinate hospital services, complete and
submit billing documentation, and explain provisions and
requirements to patients.
* Cancer Center experience preferred.
* Must be willing to periodically travel to various clinic
locations, on a as-needed basis.
* This position may be subject to a criminal background
investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical
evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
