The Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art is the capstone
of a planned "arts district" at UC Davis' new front door alongside
Interstate 80. The museum is dedicated to education and serves a
primary audience of faculty and students as the lens through which
it engages a broader audience. The museum's program is steeped in
the university's legacy of making, its physical presence in the
Central Valley, and the university's role as a progenitor of
conceptual art in California.
The Manetti Shrem Museum is a start-up environment that requires
flexibility, initiative, willingness and the ability to problem
solve. The incumbent must be creative and enjoy working within a
small, entrepreneurial team that is mission-driven, results-driven,
and community oriented. Must have the ability to exercise good
judgment in a variety of situations, exhibiting perseverance and
grace under pressure. Requires strong written and verbal

The Financial and Business Manager will join an energetic start-up
team providing leadership, support and coordination of activities
related to management of the museum's financial and human
resources. They will play a key role in connecting with campus
partners who are engaged in the work of the museum.
Under general guidance of the Deputy Director, oversee the
business, administrative and financial operations of the Manetti
Shrem Museum. Perform budgetary and financial functions, serve as
senior business manager, and oversee operations staff. In addition
to serving as the lead administrator of departmental financial
systems, this position is responsible for conducting financial
analysis, developing financial projections, advising senior
leadership and other budget managers on budget and financial
matters, and working with managers and OCP partners on HR and
personnel matters. Position also provides high-level oversight of
building maintenance and upkeep, and facility use including event
