Job Description:
Siemens Mobility provides efficient and coordinated
transportation of people and goods by rail - including rolling
stock, rail automation, rail electrification, and service. We craft
and manufacture across the entire spectrum of rolling stock,
including commuter and regional passenger trains, light rail and
streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches, and high-speed
trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely on us to provide
traction-power substations and electricity transmission, as well as
signaling and control technology for freight and passenger rail and
transit systems.
Due to extraordinary growth, we are adding a Commercial Project to
the team at our state-of-the-art manufacturing campus in beautiful
and affordable Sacramento, California. As Commercial Project
Manager, you will be responsible for commercial bid management and
commercial project management for bogies and other rolling stock
components for locomotives, light rail, and coaches for the North
America markets. You will lead the commercial project execution
during planning, design, procurement, manufacturing, commissioning,
and customer acceptance. Duties include collaborating closely with
operational departments to ensure order income calculation is
achieved while meeting goals for customer happiness, cost,
schedule, and quality. We are a highly interactive, team-based
finance position in a factory setting for manufacturing rolling
stock for the North American market.
What you will be doing:
Responsible for Commercial Bid Management and Commercial Project
Management for bogies and other rolling stock components for
locomotives, light rail, and coaches for the North American
markets.
Full profit and loss responsibility for assigned project(s)
together with the technical project manager (PM); responsibility
for all financial planning aspects, such as maintaining the
Estimate at Completion (EAC) and optimizing the project gross
profit, cash flow, and assets management.
Responsible for foreign exchange risk mitigation, hedging
strategies, and international tax requirements.
Responsible for negotiations of commercial terms and conditions.
Ensure accuracy of project books and compliance with Siemens
financial reporting guidelines and local GAAP.
Monitor and control project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and
deliverables that support business goals in alignment with senior
management and partners.
Ensure compliance with contract documents and proactively handle
changes in project scope, identify potential problems, and develop
appropriate contingency plans.
Provide monthly project reports, customer progress reports,
customer change proposals, and presentations to management and
internal/external customers.
Actively connect with customers' commercial representatives and
handle solving commercial issues.
What you will need to be successful:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field (or
foreign degree equivalent)
Three years of experience in the job offered or an acceptable
alternate occupation.
Two years of experience with the following skills: Microsoft
Office; various ERP systems (SAP or JDE);
Knowledge of project management and financial reporting tools,
legal terms and conditions, and accounting standards (e.g., IFRS
15).
We would be impressed if you had:
Project management certification, e.g. Project Management
Professional by PMI.

salary range for this position in Sacramento, CA is $95,400 to
$128,800. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget
and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and
qualifications.
