Position Overview:

Siemens Mobility Customer Service Procurement is growing and looking to add a Project Procurement Manager role to the team. This role will lead all procurement required planning, execution, control, and closeout activities for assigned projects. It will be responsible for leading one or more complex projects to deliver the agreed scope within planned quality, time, and cost parameters to satisfy the specified project requirements. Supporting the overall business case, customer timeline, targeted margins, and cash flow objectives. You will lead the Procurement efforts for large critical infrastructure Projects, working on innovative solutions collaborating with colleagues in sales, engineering, operations, finance, your procurement peers & management, both locally & globally. The role will be located in Sacramento, CA.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Integrate Procurement in the project management process (PM@Siemens) and coordinate, control, and monitor all Procurement activities in a project.
• Review and monitor the sales pipeline. Meet with cross-functional partners and participate in project/sales meetings to provide procurement market information at an early stage, optimizing supplier selection. Participate in project/sales meetings as project core team member to exert a shaping influence at an early stage.
• Establish material budgets and monitor costs through project execution phase.
• Analyze customer inquiries during bid preparation / opportunity management phases and exactly understand the customer's functional needs in order to include (supplier) innovations.
• Clearly define the supply chain. Build and maintain project procurement plans, assuring outstanding supply chain execution throughout the entire project, document and communicate the supply chain strategy to cross-functional project teams.
• Coordinate with various commodity managers both locally and globally for supplier negotiations to assure optimization of project spend.
• Develop new suppliers to support unusual / nonstandard project needs. Target the geographic areas close to our customers and the trains that we are supporting.
• Understand the scope of supply and customer contract agreements, perform risk analysis and prepare for negotiations with suppliers and identify supply chain risks and monitor the supply chain during project execution to avoid potential issues/risks.
  To thrive in this role, you have:
  
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Engineering, or other relevant degree,
  • Senior level experience within procurement to include project management experience,
  • Strongly demonstrated analytical and interpersonal skills and ability to negotiate with both internal and external partners,
  • Microsoft Suite computer skills,
  • Experience in project scheduling,
  • Demonstrated broad supply chain knowledge
  • Strongly demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and listening skills,
  • Setting you apart from others would be Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, or Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement to include end to end project management experience. SAP skills and knowledge of PM@Siemens or PM training and/or certification are a plus.

      This job can be based in Sacramento, CA or Lexington, NC. Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. Details regarding our benefits can be found here: https://www.benefitsquickstart.com/siemens/index.html . The base salary range in Sacramento, CA is $104,000 - $140,300 with an annual incentive target of 10% of the base salary. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
