Job Description:
The Sacramento State Athletics department is looking for a
motivated self-starter with leadership qualities who will be
responsible for all phases of Sacramento State Athletics ticket
sales and service efforts. This position is responsible for
generating new business revenue through season ticket and group
ticket sales for football, basketball (m/w), volleyball, soccer
(m/w), baseball and softball along with other Athletic events as
needed. Responsibilities include prospecting, selling, and
fulfillment of sales as well as renewal of existing accounts.
Previous season ticket and/or group sales experience is preferred,
but not mandatory. This position will work closely with the
Athletics marketing and facilities team as well as the campus box
office. Under the general direction of the Sr. Associate
A.D./External Affairs, the position oversees and coordinates all
Hornet Athletics ticket sales, group sales, services and
operations. The position assists Hornet Ticketing Supervisor in
building and maintaining all Athletic events within the ticketing
system and will implement the Athletics Block S Ticket Program. The
incumbent is responsible for selling/servicing season tickets and
groups tickets for all Sacramento State Athletics ticket events and
managing team lists. The incumbent is required to be at all
Athletics homes games and travel to some away games, so must be
able to work a flexible schedule, which includes nights and
weekends. The incumbent is also responsible for building season
packages and contacting season ticket holders for renewal as well
as making outbound calls for new season ticket sales for all
ticketed sports. Experience 1. Experience with development
stewardship, ticket sales/service/operations and external relations
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 2. Experience with providing lead
work direction to a large number of transitory staff; including
selection, hiring, termination, training and scheduling. 3.
Experience with cash handling, including credit card security and
daily balancing and reconciliation 4. Strong written and verbal
communication skills with a solid foundation in grammar, spelling
and the composition of various communication vehicles are essential
5. Experience with ticketing operations and ticketing software 6.
Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel,
PowerPoint and Publisher 8. Ability to work independently as well
as collaboratively 9. Ability to follow policies, rules and
regulations set forth by the University, CSU and NCAA 10. Ability
to support and positively contribute to the mission, goals, and
objectives of the Athletics Department Work Schedule Requirements
11. Ability to work a flexible schedule that will include evenings
and weekends 12. Ability to travel Condition of Employment -
Ability to pass a background check PreferredQualifications 13.
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations surrounding ticket
distribution and sales 14. Two (2) years of professional experience
15. Experience using a Ticketing System and season ticket and group
solicitations 16. Two (2) years of sales, service or ticket
operations or technical experience 17. Two years or more of staff
supervision or leadership experience
