Giving. -The Director of Planned Giving will report directly to the
Senior Director of Philanthropy and will serve as a member of the
Foundation's Philanthropy & Communications team.Make a difference

ensure they provide support -for important causes in perpetuity. We

- This is a full-time, exempt position.
- We have a 9/80 work schedule, with every other Friday off.
- Hybrid work schedule with 2-3 days a week in the office.Our
compensation and benefits show how much we value our team:
$75,000-$90,000, depending on

Pay.Fun mixers and team-building eventsAbout the position:Reporting
to the Senior Director of Philanthropy and operating as a key
member of the Philanthropy & Communications team, the Director of
Planned Giving (DPG) focuses on providing fundholders and
professional advisors with the highest level of services in support
of charitable giving, especially related to planned giving. The DPG
is a proven leader, with 7 or more years of experience in the
planned giving area including working closely with professional
advisors, donors, external partners, board members, and others to
secure legacy funds, charitable gift annuities (CGAs), charitable
remainder trusts (CRTs), and other planned giving vehicles. The
position is responsible for developing and growing the Foundation's
planned giving programs, identifying, and cultivating new
supporters, growing relationships with professional advisors, and
securing gifts to assure a lasting source of philanthropic funds
for the benefit of the region. The DPG also strengthens the
Foundation's planned giving engagement with its existing
fundholders and raises the visibility of planned giving throughout
the Foundation's four-county service area (El Dorado, Placer,
Sacramento, and Yolo).The new role of the DPG will help the
Foundation meet objectives outlined in the new strategic roadmap,
which is grounded in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in
the region, specifically focused on growing the number of committed
planned gifts.Key responsibilities:
Build professional advisor
relationships throughout the region to encourage client referrals
to the Foundation to open charitable funds.Develop and grow the
Foundation's planned giving program.Increase the Foundation's
assets as they relate to fundraising and planned giving, according
to the goals established by the Board and CEO.Manage/support the
Foundation's Philanthropic Advisors' Forum (PAF) and organize
quarterly PAF Advisory Committee meetings to develop and implement
outreach strategies.Work closely with the Philanthropy &
Communications team to collaborate on the development of cases for
support, collateral, and other communication strategies to engage
advisors and encourage client referrals.Identify planned gift
prospects with a goal of generating planned gifts, especially those
related to unrestricted dollars used to serve the greatest needs in
the region.Work closely with Sr. Director of Philanthropy and Chief
Philanthropy Officer to provide high quality stewardship to legacy
fundholders, both prospective and current.Serve as a Foundation
expert in planned giving vehicles including CGAs, CRTs, Charitable
Lead Trusts, and more.Serve as an active member of the Sacramento
Estate Planning Council (SEPC) and the Planned Giving Forum of
Greater Sacramento.Take an active role in the maintenance of
complete and accurate records on potential donors and legacy
fundholders in the central database. Understand federal and state
regulations regarding charitable giving.Assure that development
policies and procedures are carried out in a manner compliant with
best practices according to the National Standards for Community
Foundations.Act as the guardian of donor intent in all matters
related to legacy fundholders. Other duties as
assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree preferred.Proficiency
with Microsoft Office Suite and possess the ability to master our
internal donor management system, and/or facility with and ability
to learn other donor prospect/data content management
systems.Experience with donor prospect management platforms
preferred.Experience working with professional advisors preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Community
foundation experience -a plus.The Sacramento Region Community
