SUPERVISOR: Next Step Transitional Living Center Supervisor
STATUS: Non-Exempt / Full-time

BASIC PURPOSE
The Next Step Program - Assistant Resident Manger works under the
supervision of the Program Supervisor. The Assistant Resident
Manager is responsible for supporting the administrative
operations, safety, and security of the Next Step Program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
THIS IS A LIVE-IN POSITION-to fulfill these duties, the person will
reside on-site.
Responsible for the operation and implementation of all established
rules and policies.
Assist the Program Supervisor, Program Administrator, and
Officer(s) in the supervision of the program participants and house
duty assignments.
Assist the Program Supervisor, Program Administrator, and
Officer(s) in administration, program, or Resident related
duties.
Maintain a safe and secure building by assisting in all security,
safety, and resident related matters.
Assist Program Supervisor and Case Managers with Case Management
load, as needed. Perform case management duties including follow up
and documentation.
Assist in the overseeing and supervision of emergency disaster
preparedness, supervision of drills and actual emergencies at the
building. Duties include, but not limited to, safety of all
personnel, participants, and assigned facilities.
Inform, document, and report all incidents and direct to the
Program Supervisor, Program Administrator, and Officer(s).
Oversee and submit weekly statistical reports.
Support searches in all parts of the building for alcohol, illegal
drugs, paraphilia, and other unacceptable contraband.
Driving assignments as assigned.
Respond to all emergencies, and notify the Program Supervisor,
Program Administrator, and Officer(s) and proper staff and/or
agencies (Police & Fire Department).
Responsible for fire control system, safety, and security of all
program participants.
Must maintain and keep in good order and repair housing assigned as
an aspect of employment.
In cooperation with Program Supervisor and the Chaplain ensure
routine spiritual services, chapels and daily devotionals are
available to residents.
Other duties as assigned by the Program Supervisor, Program
Administrator and/or Officer(s).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIREMENTS
Experience in operations of a transitional living program.
Familiarity of the context of The Salvation Army's mission
providing support as needed or directed within the scope of program
objectives.
First Aid and CPR certified, or willing to become certified within
90 days of employment.
Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office needed.
Must be able to relate to a variety of persons from wide selection
of demographics.
Strong organizational skills.
Must possess a valid California Class C Driver License, and ability
to drive a Salvation Army vehicle.
Must be 21 years or older.
Authorize The Salvation Army to add name to the CA DMV Pull Notice
Program.
Complete The Salvation Army vehicle course training.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist
on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects.
Ability to operate telephone.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Annual TB test clearance verification.
Annual wellness check clearance.
