OVERVIEW:The Director of Manufacturing is responsible for the
manufacturing of quality products on time and on budget while
fostering a culture of safety. This position will provide oversight
for all activities in manufacturing as well as inventory and
logistics. The Director of Manufacturing creates strategies and
objectives to support the manufacturing capabilities of the
company. The ideal candidate has grit and motivation to push
through obstacles tactically while balancing the needs of the
business with customer expectations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide strategic direction and leadership to deliver products on
time and on budget
Collaborate with cross functional leaders on setting long range
operating goals and budgets, expansion efforts, and implementation
of new technologies and products
Oversight of all manufacturing operations ensuring production,
performance, and quality standards are consistently met
Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor manufacturing
performance in the areas of safety, quality, efficiency, inventory
accuracy, and on time delivery.
Ensure establishment of standard operating procedures (SOPs),
quality management system (QMS) alignment, and compliance
programs
Provide oversight of material inventory levels, material handling
efforts, and logistics
Provide oversight on return on investment (ROI), cost/benefit
analysis, and business cases to implement initiatives and
expenditures designed to improve processes and innovate (i.e.
automation and/or expansion).
Ensure a healthy and safe work environment and compliance with
federal and state regulations
Lead a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
Develop Managers by defining expectations, identifying succession
planning and growth opportunities for emerging leadership through
coaching and training.
WORK ENVIROMENT:The Director of Manufacturing spends most of their
time either in an office environment or at a manufacturing facility
but may also spend time visiting customer sites. The office is an
open and collaborative space where work is performed both
independently and with the team. When in a manufacturing facility,
work is performed in a more traditional manufacturing environment,
with higher noise levels and frequent movement of people and
equipment. The customer sites vary and may be in fairly remote
rural locations, with possible extreme weather conditions.
REPORTING STRUCTURE:This position reports directly to Director of
Operations
CAREER ADVANCEMENT:Career advancement at Construction Innovations
is possible with all positions, but is not guaranteed. Advancement
could be within the current department or to other departments
within the company.
LOCATION:Construction Innovations facilities and offices are
located in Sacramento, CA and Mather, CA.
COMPENSATION:Construction Innovations pays hourly/salary rates
commensurate with each employee's knowledge, experience and skill
level.

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
15 years' experience in a Manufacturing environment.
Bachelor's degree plus MBA preferred
Exceptional leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in establishing or expanding manufacturing operations
domestically
Experience in deploying improvements in a manufacturing
environment
Ability to work effectively in a team setting and support change
management within organization
Extensive experience working within an ERP and/or MRP system.
Microsoft Dynamics experience a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to verbally communicate: convey detailed and accurate
instructions and information.
Ability to hear with or without correction in order to receive and
interpret detailed information.
Required to sit at a desk work station for long periods of
time.
Occasionally push, pull, lift, and carry at least 25 pounds.
Frequently required to walk and stand. This position may involve
infrequent site visits which will require the ability to walk on
uneven surfaces, climb stairs and wear appropriate personal
protective equipment.
Required to have visual acuity with or without correction in order
to read contract documents, analyze data, view a computer monitor,
and proof-read documents to identify errors.
Required to use fingers and hands: type using a computer keyboard,
handle, feel, and reach.
Occasionally stoop, kneel, and crouch.
