  • Paid time off and paid holidays, plus paid benefits for maternity and parental leavesStrategic Account ManagerStrategic Account Manager - Milk Replacer Enterprise Young Animal The MRE is seeking a Strategic Account Manager to coordinate and grow young animal product sales nationally with a focus on California, Idaho, Texas and New Mexico.This is a remote (virtual) field-based sales position with the ideal location being in Idaho. This is not a requirement though.Key accountabilities include:Proactively seizes selling opportunities by demonstrating the ability to move seamlessly between technical products expertise and business development discussions; this includes consistently demonstrating solution selling skillsDevelops, coordinates, and guides the account strategy, which is designed to position Land O' Lakes as a "Partner of Choice" and optimize revenue for all key products, within assigned accountsDevelop and execute a holistic approach/needs assessment at the account level that touches all influencers within the customers leadership team, driving profitability for the customer through improved animal performance, health, and managementDemonstrate the value of our portfolio through an understanding of our customers management and business processes and the steps necessary to demonstrate value by meeting the customer's needs through our solutionsBe a strategic partner with the customer to help develop and plan their long-term visionIn depth understanding of the customer (looking 12-18 months out), as demonstrated, and communicated through a comprehensive business planLeverage resources, cultivate relationships & grow your networks to identify opportunities to drive young animal product salesContribute to the innovation and product development pipeline by providing quarterly communications on market and customer insights to the marketing and research teamCollaborate with marketing to ensure Land O' Lakes marketing and communications are targeted toward prospective customersBuilds and maintains strong collaborative relationships with all strategic accounts, industry partners and stakeholdersDemonstrate a high level of concise communication with all Land O'Lakes stakeholdersEngage in industry-related events to generate additional awareness for Land O'LakesEducation Required:Minimum of Bachelor's degreeAnimal health and nutrition experience with a strong knowledge of the beef and dairy industriesPreferred Advanced Degree (MBA, MSc. Degree, DVM, or Ph.D.) with a focus in dairy and/or beef scienceExperience Preferred3 + years' experience in large account sales and management in the dairy or beef industryUnderstanding of the impacts of nutrition and additives on health and performanceTrack record of presenting complex technology and concepts in a clear and succinct mannerCompetencies RequiredWilling to work and listen to different perspectivesSelf-starter and goal-oriented with ability to achieve resultsAbility to multi-task and collaborate across functional teamsStrong problem-solving abilities and a can-do attitudeContinuous learner with an innovation mindsetExcellent verbal and written communication skillsTravel: 50%-80%.This is a sales role that is compensated with a target mix of base salary plus commission. Base salary is dependent upon experience/tenure and generally ranges between $110,000 - $160,000. Commission is driven by individual performance.
