Human Resources is committed to building a successful and sustainable workforce of engaged employees.The Classification & Compensation unit collaborates and consults with internal business partners on all facets of personnel management practices to ensure compliance with control agency, government, and legislative laws; rules, regulations, policies and procedures; assists with recruitment and certifies employees in accordance with the California civil service merit system; provides departmental training in personnel management; implements programs and activities designed to promote employee development and retention; conducts classification studies; and consults and collaborates with leadership on issues related to performance management.The Staff Services Manager I, under the general direction of the Talent Manager, Staff Services Manager II (Supervisory), directs the day-to-day activities of the Classification & Compensation team which is responsible for classification, compensation, and position control programs.
