The Opportunity Effectively leads, directs and oversees operations and activities for all of the RCM functions aligned to the goals of the business (functions include Insurance eligibility, documentation, coding, billing, collections, QA, A/R and denial mgmt). Works closely with the RCM President/Chief Operating Officer on long-term strategies to improve yield, reduce cost to collect, improve operational efficiencies and execute on organizational goals. Participates in leadership committees (Finance, Management, Operations, Compliance) to represent and address revenue cycle, gather support for process improvements and report on financial performance. Ensure all RCM locations are collaborating and operating in accordance with short-and long-term objectives and developing actionable business strategies and plans. Establish operational strategies by evaluation trends, establishing critical measurements, determining production, productivity, quality and customer-service strategies for change implementation. Partner with senior leadership to set and drive organizational vision and operational strategy for RCM. Stay up to date on health care industry updates and changes. Promote and support a working environment consistent with Vituity values, vision and culture. Develop, communicate and manage KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) for sustainable growth. Define, implement and manage clear quality and productivity standards across the operations. Manage, coach, train and serve as a mentor to the RCM Directors and Senior Managers. Build a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational objectives are met. Leads the development and implementation of revenue cycle strategies, processes and improvement initiatives to continuously improve the RCM process to maximize our billings and collections. Determine the structure of the revenue cycle management team and locations to maximize RCM operations and cost. Define, implement and manage clear quality and productivity standards across the operations. Proactively evaluate revenue cycle opportunities and impacts of changes. Collaborate with other departments (Finance, People Operations, Development and Decision Support, Compliance, Application Support, etc.) to evaluate issues for resolution. Track and monitor revenue cycle performance KPI's; report key findings to RCM President and stakeholders. Manage with Vituity senior leadership around all aspects of revenue cycle. Manager positive communication and build strong relationships between Revenue Cycle Management Operations and Executive leadership (CEO, RCM President/COO, Compliance, etc.), practice management and staff, other revenue cycle staff and payers regarding revenue cycle matters. Manages vendor management and IT relationships related to RCM. Partners and collaborates with Physician Partners and Practice Management Leadership. Ensures compliance with federal and state laws, compliance and HIPPA specifically pertaining to the revenue cycle by analyzing internal policies, controls, procedures and implementing appropriate changes. Monitors and researches regulatory changes affecting revenue cycle and proposes actions to respond to changing legislation/regulation to revenue. Monitors RCM performance reports to ensure compliance with targeted goals and objectives. Manage budgets to optimize investment, support KPI's and strive for continuous efficiency and process improvement. Develops short-term and long-term department budgets and monitors and manages budget variances. Required Experience and Competencies Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a discipline related to the duties of the position AND Ten (10) years of progressively responsible related work experience, including at least eight (8) years of experience in a mid to senior level management capacity is required. Master's Degree in Business Management or a health-related field is preferred. Experience with IDX software strongly preferred. Healthcare Business Management Association (HBMA) certification, Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) certification, preferred. Healthcare Financial Management Association Member preferred. Experience in oversight of a budget, revenue and expense management. Experience in strategic planning and execution. Strategic, visionary and innovative leadership. Ability to attract, develop and retain top talent. Highly skilled at conflict management and conflict resolution. Possess an excellent leadership and problem-solving ability. High level of emotional intelligence and proven professional judgment. Ability to execute on high quality short-and long-term business strategies. Ability to manage multiple work streams, projects, tasks and goals. Knowledge and experience with industry charge methodology, billing and collection regulations. Ability to problem-solve at a high level and present proposed solutions. Ability to communicate effectively with physicians and other professionals. Ability to travel regularly.
