The Director of Radiation Physics supervises Physics and Dosimetry
Department operations and staff. Directs and facilitates delivery
of quality patient care that is compliant with regulatory agencies,
industry standards, and company objectives and policies. The
Director has responsibility for all technical aspects of clinical
operations and report to the Regional Area and Medical Directors.
Collaboration with vendors and colleagues in Radiation Oncology
Core Systems including clinical computer, engineering, and
contracting is critical for new programs, upgrades and
implementation projects. SMF is one affiliate in the Sutter Health
Radiation Oncology service line which provides care throughout the
San Francisco Bay and Valley areas. The Physics Director will
engage and support the Service Line Executive, Physicians, and
Physicists on standardization, quality, and safety
MS or PhD in Radiological physics or other physics / chemistry
discipline is required.
American Board of Radiology (ABR) or American Board of Medical
Physics (ABMP) is required upon hire.
Six to nine years of clinical radiological physics experience is
required. Supervisory experience is preferred.
Skills and knowledge:
- National recognition as an expert in the meidcal physics
- Working knowledge of equipment used for dosimetric
calculations, treatment aids, special dosimetry, radiation oncology
procedures, radiation biology, physiology and anatomy.
- Detailed knowledge of clinical therapeutic radiological physics
and mathematics, and Federal/State rules and regulation on
radiation physics and safety.
