Company is looking for an experienced VP of Engineering with prior experience in the fin-tech industry to manage a diverse development team. The responsibilities of a VP of Engineering include leading a team of developers and engineers comprised of front-end, back-end, wallet developers, a solution architect and QA developers. Collaborating with the CIO, CISO, CEO, product managers, and other business stakeholders to improve company and engineering policies and standards. To be successful as a VP of Engineering, you should have prior Engineering team management and organizational leadership experience. Collaborate effectively with excellent communication skills to other business stakeholders as a strategic problem-solver while possessing a solid foundation in software design. Company is looking for an Engineering Leader based in the US to help scale and grow the engineering team globally across 3 regions (LATAM, US and APAC) to help build the best products in the market. This job is 100% remote. VP of Engineering Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 30-50 engineers through management and mentorship.
  • Perform all aspects of team management to attract, engage, retain, and nurture teams of exceptional engineers (e.g., recruitment, mentoring, training and development, performance evaluation). Working closely with business stakeholders globally , product teams and the engineering senior managers to build the future road map for engineering.
  • Developing standards and procedures to ensure that quality standards are met and consistent.
  • Partner with Product and other key stakeholders to develop technology roadmaps, goal setting, and regular reporting of progress to senior leadership in the company. Coordinate the execution of these activities working with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders within Company.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of talented and high-impact engineers, providing cultural, technical, and hands-on leadership.
  • Provide technical and architectural direction for the development, design, integration, testing, and maintenance of our Internal Tools here at Company.
  • Lead agile software processes for the engineering team and introduce best-in-class industry practices.
  • Drive a rigorous practice of thorough documentation and knowledge sharing
  • Act as an 'internal ambassador ' for the engineering team to other groups, communicating the opportunities and constraints technology offers to the development of our internal projects.
  • Resolve escalations arising from internal teams and manage client expectations alongside various teams to minimize production incidents and operations
  • Manage technical debt to ensure our development velocity stays responsive and predictable
  • Align teams to broader company objectives and client expectations improvements on efficiencyBasic Requirements:
    • Bachelor or higher tertiary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or similar degree.
    • Experience with emerging blockchain technologies
    • Proficiency in .Net core backend and React / Typescript
    • Strong organizational leadership skills and previous experience as senior leader/manager for engineering teams in a blockchain or cryptocurrency company
    • A service-oriented mindset while driving excellence across the organization.
    • Strong organizational skills, both for yourself and the team
    • Business acumen: Proven understanding of business dynamics, goals, and product strategy. Knowledge of how Engineering fits into Company 's overall business.
    • The ability to balance business needs, a sense of urgency, conflicting constraints, and shipping high quality and pragmatic solutions in a fast-moving and quickly-growing company like Company
    • Effective and clear communication skills - written and verbal
    • Well versed in many programming languages, ability to function and read in C#.
    • Extensive experience in working with stakeholders to create hiring strategies to scale and develop quality engineering teams.
    • Proven understanding of business goals and strategy and how that drives direction within an engineering department
    • Actively shaping the culture of engineering teams - providing counsel and guidance
    • Prior working experience and knowledge of building exchanges, wallet development, cryptocurrencies, low-latency trading systems and deep understanding of blockchain infrastructure.
    • Prior experience managing several engineering managers and team leads
    • Agile and open to getting 'hands dirty ' when necessary. Hands-on leadership.
    • Must be knowledgeable about industry trends, best practices, and change management.Preferred skills & knowelegde:
      • Thought leader or community involvement in the blockchain/fin-tech/cryptocurrency space
      • Enjoys mentoring and developing a mid-large team of engineers
      • Passionate about organization and leadership strength and capability
      • Active contributor to the blockchain community
