POSITION SUMMARY: This is a newly developed position reporting to the Director of Human Resources. The Human Resources Manager performs varied assignments with a high degree of responsibility directing the routine functions of the Human Resources department. This position is directly responsible for leave of absence and reasonable accommodation administration, safety and Cal/OSHA compliance, Workers' Compensation, assisting the Director with employee relations and other professional-level and administrative duties; interprets and advises managers and staff on employment laws and SCH policies and procedures; contributes to the development of HR policies, procedures and processes and supervises HR processes to ensure efficient operations for the organization. This position works with extremely confidential and highly sensitive information and must maintain strict confidentiality. This position supervises a HR Generalist and HR Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have experience administering leaves of absence and reasonable accommodations, safety and Cal/OSHA requirements and Workers' Compensation. Sufficient knowledge and/or experience with recruitment and on-boarding functions, benefits administration and HR records management in order to provide supervisory oversight to HR staff who perform these functions. Understanding of the principles, practices and techniques related to employee relations and investigations. Human Resources experience must be recent and obtained working in a corporate HR headquarters in CA.

Knowledge of Federal, CA and local employment laws, regulations and case law/court decisions and the ability to apply that knowledge to make sound decisions and provide guidance to others, the principles and practices of Human Resources administration and the knowledge, skills and ability to carry out the duties of this position in a legally compliant, accurate and efficient manner within deadlines is required.

Professional certification, such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP is highly desired.

Driving is an essential function of this job. Employee will be required to furnish their own vehicle to be used in the course of employment. A valid driver's license and minimum vehicle insurance coverage for CA is required.
