The CMO is responsible for compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies pertaining to the medical practice, clinic operations and licensing. The CMO is also responsible for coordination of medical services with other clinic operations and coordinates medical systems decisions and services with the COO and CEO.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelopment and Maintenance of Quality Improvement Programs for the Medical Departments* Develop, oversee and report upon the Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement Program* Provides guidance to the Quality Team and functions as a member of the care team and as such, actively collaborates with other clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure care is proactive and coordinated among care providers and care settings.* Works in collaboration with Infection Control and Employee Health teams to ensure the quality of our care delivery practices and physical environments are safe.* Develop, oversee and report results of peer review activities.* Identify patient satisfaction improvement opportunities.Development and Implementation of Standards of Care and policies for the Medical Clinic* Establish, monitor, and continually evaluate improvement in the standards of care through the performance benchmarks and goals (quality, operational, and financial)* In collaboration with other leaders, recommends strategies to enhance clinical performance, effectiveness, efficiencies, productivity, and compliance* Provides medical guidance to the Operations Team in the development of policies pertaining to patient care in other patient related and support functions.* Recommend clinical pathways and participate in the designation of clear objectives for the medical clinic including implementation of clinical health care plans.* Maintains medical operations in compliance with applicable state and local laws, regulations and policies including clinical compliance with the 19 HRSA/FQHC Program Requirements.* Continuing One Community Health's long history of a premier HIV provider, lead clinical efforts to End the HIV Epidemic.Responsible for the general approval, design, implementation, and monitoring of the medical education programs conducted at One Community Health.* Manages and coordinated relationships with University of California Davis and other entities for continued learning* Provides clinical input to performance evaluations of staff whose roles closely interact with Medical Services.* In conjunction with other medical and general staff, develops and designs new clinical services, as appropriate to One Community Health patient needs.* Provides leadership and organizational support to collaborative development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical practice guidelines for use in One Community Health practice setting.Additional Duties* Advocate as a leader of premier HIV services in the community* Participate in all related or recommended committees and activities* Serve as an active member of the Executive Leadership Team, collaborating and coordinating efforts.* Maintain positive, engaged relationships with external and community agencies.* Other duties as assignedEducation, Skills and Experience Required* Demonstrate high level of Emotional Intelligence and interpersonal effectiveness.* High degree of focus and attention to detail.* Able to manage multiple priorities effectively.* Must be fully licensed to practice in the state of California, who is board certified in Internal Medicine, Infectious Disease, or Family Practice* Possess a DEA certificate* Licenses required for this position must be kept current, valid, and in good standing with the presiding entity.* Minimum 5 years of senior management experience, preferably at with a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).Please NoteOne Community Health values the diversity of the people it hires and serves.
