OverviewSBM is looking for a Data Engineering Manager to join the team! The Data Engineering Manager you will be responsible for partnering with technology leadership team across the organization and enterprise leadership teams to understand and interpret solution requirements to define capabilities for enterprise platforms. The Data Engineering Manager position also includes working with Platform Architects to ensure technical integrity and consistency of solutions with SBM's strategy and standards.Responsibilities* Hands-on lead for data consolidation and syndication (from various source systems including internal databases, Cloud based data stores, and third-party API/Web Service calls, in batch, near real-time, and real-time).* Partner with internal technology and business leaders to identify, develop and execute new data opportunities.* Applying data driven approach (critical metrics) in tying technology solutions to specific business outcomes* Be an influencer for futuristic and disruptive thought patterns and technologies that can become breakthrough solutions.* Hands-on experience architecting complex solutions with Azure Data Services, Data Lakes and Dell Boomi with internal IT teams and third-party partners to design and implement data integrations to support business requirements.* Manage team of Data Engineers and DBAs to enable agile delivery of data components supporting business analytics and data interfaces.* Participate in the formation of the overall corporate data strategy relating to both transactional and analytic data processing.* Provide technical leadership and mentoring to your team.* Manage day-to-day interactions with senior management* Create high-level design artifacts such as common business object models, component models, and design abstracts to ensure accurate capture and documentation of data flows.* Work closely with business teams to translate analytic business requirements into architecture and data designs to support business outcomes.* Build relationships with business partners and software engineers to understand data needs.* Establish best practices for naming, governing, managing, modeling, cleansing, transforming, moving, storing, and searching all data.* Guide the design, build, and launch of new data marts/models and data pipelines.* Ensure high levels of data quality across the related business areas.* Establish SLAs for all data and processes.* Develop data quality checks for source and target data sets.* Develop UAT plans and conduct quality assurance.* Develop and maintain ETL routines using Dell Boomi.* Develop standards for data and information integration for project development, data modeling and documentation that are maintained as data environment evolves.Qualifications* Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, or a related field from a four-year college or university with 1-3 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.* May be required to have a valid driver's license* Knowledge of object-oriented development practices with an emphasis on the Microsoft technology stack. Knowledge of relational databases and familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus. Understanding design patterns, version control systems, N-tier application architecture and front-end native code/libraries/frameworks.* 6+ years of relevant professional experience.* 2+ years in direct people management capacity, with specific experience transforming team maturity and processes.* 5+ years' experience using SQL, working with traditional relational databases and/or distributed systems.* 2+ years of experience with programming languages (e.g. Python, R, Bash).* 2+ years of experience with workflow management tools.Strong Understanding of:* AWS Data Lake Technologies (RDS/S3Redshift/Glue/etc.)* Data Delivery/Analytics, Data Modeling & ETL Tools (Dell Boomi/AWS Glue/SSIS)* Master Data Management* SQL stored procedures* Relational & dimensional design concepts* Strong data analysis & analytical problem-solving skills* Strong communication skills - written and verbal presentations.
