Over 90 years of quality products and superior service.Job Description:This position is responsible for supporting the needs of the operating plants and executing projects related to new product development, cost savings, and improvements in plant capacity and yield. The yield projects include improvement in yield of existing processes and yield projects related to the development of byproducts. Additionally, this position is responsible for conducting plant audits and is involved in the annual review and development of Commodity Code Sheets.Education/ExperienceBachelor's degree in Engineering5+ years process engineering experience, preferably mineral processingESSENTIAL DUTIESExecute duties in an efficient and safe mannerExecute projects related to cost savingsCalculate cost savings potentialExecute projects related to plant capacity improvementExecute projects related to yield improvementWork with in house R&D on new product developmentDirect testing at vendor locationsDefine equipment and process specifications for new productsDefine scope and process flow related to new productsInput and review of engineering design plansProvide start up assistance to new processes or changes to processesConduct annual Coloring Plant audits including improvement recommendations and reportingProvide support to plants on technical issues and/or questionsMaintenance of Process Flow DiagramsPerform other duties as assignedTechnical knowledge/skillsMineral Processing including crushing/screening (intermediate knowledge)Coatings application process (entry knowledge)Project Management, Planning, and Scheduling (entry to intermediate knowledge)Material handling (entry to intermediate knowledge)Engineering / equipment design (entry to intermediate knowledge)AutoCAD preferred, not requiredRegulations of safe handling and registration of materials (entry knowledge)General knowledge/skillsComputer (intermediate knowledge)Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) (intermediate knowledge)Google (G-Suite) (intermediate knowledge)Analytical and problem solving skills (intermediate knowledge)Leadership/SupervisionMust have the ability to lead a teamWorks well in difficult and time pressure situationsAt Specialty Granules LLC , we believe our employees are our greatest resource.
