Job Description:

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Manages Engineering Project Management team(s). Manages the implementation and support of projects to include: development of business processes, planning, and management of the project through implementation and post implementation stability. Recommends enhancements to current business processes to effectively integrate project requirements with existing and related business processes. Assists with defining and managing the creation of policies and procedures that comply with financial practices, FDA, and GxP standards.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage the tactical execution of short- and long-term objectives through the coordination of activities with a direct responsibility for results, including costs, methods, and staffing.Provides leadership, coaching, and development plans for all direct reports to maintain an engaged and productive workforce; partnering with Human Resources on employee matters.Manages the efforts of resources required to successfully implement project goals and objectives within the prescribed timeframe and budget. When timeline and/or budget deviations are identified, implements appropriate actions to recover while keeping all stakeholders informed of the current status.Manages the stabilization of each implementation to include; planning, organizing, and resolving issues. - -Responsible for post implementation support.Determines "best business practices" to meet the goals and objectives of the business.Manages task schedules and issues status reports.Supports the business in the development of system reports to manage and measure the business processes.Validates and documents configuration, enhancements, and development.Implementation projects are deemed to be medium to large in size and complexity. Assigned projects generally focus on:
Managing multi-location integration projects for business entities.Managing large-scale Business Process Project implementations.Managing the implementation of new business process functionality.Creates, optimizes, and drives structured schedules and project plans. Sets and meets deadlines with quality deliverables, effectively adapting and modifying plans based on changing conditions or data.Collaborates across all the functional areas (R&D, Marketing, QA/QC, Regulatory, Clinical, Operations, Service, etc.) necessary to ensure successful project completion and delivery.Anticipates, identifies, documents, and manages key program risks; proposes and drives mitigation and contingency plans.Prepares project dashboards and communicates progress clearly across organizational boundaries and levels from individual contributor to senior executive.Manages team (s) to define and prioritize scope, objectives, and requirements.Builds effective relationships with core and extended team members, functional managers, senior management, and customers.Manages the application and continuous improvement of project management infrastructure (i.e. processes, methods, techniques, tools, handbooks, guidelines) for the project.Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Interprets and recommends change to policies and establishes procedures that effect immediate organization(s).Interacts with internal departments and external customers; particularly in problem resolution. Acts as an advisor to subordinate(s) to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems. - -Responsible for hiring, coaching and counseling employees, including performance reviews, disciplinary action and terminations.Provides technical guidance.Assists with various projects as assigned.Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION:
Responsible for the direct supervision of various levels of Engineering Project Management staff.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree required in a technical field; Advanced Degree desirable; Must attain PMI/PMP certification.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

Minimum 6 - 8 years of related experience in engineering project management/product development, preferably in the medical device industry; 3+ years of supervisory or project/program management experience preferred.Excellent presentation, expectation management, and training skills, consistently meeting specific needs of various client groups, project teams, and target audiences.Must be proficient in the use of Project Management tools to develop schedules, allocate resources, and track progress.Excellent leadership skills and experience leading high-performance technical teams.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Outstanding track record driving projects to completion on time, within budget and in high quality.Proficient in establishing working relationships with various levels of Management, Project Team members, End-users; and their various support teams.Strong experience in aligning and identifying appropriate functional and technical skills and resources necessary to meet strategic goals and business objectives, within prescribed timelines and budget parameters.Strong analytical skills.The ability to work cross functionally in a matrix management environment.Proficient PC skills with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project Management).
