Job Description Description: OVERVIEW: Performs as an instructor in
a regular classroom or alternative setting, providing instruction
in designated subject areas. Demonstrates on-going commitment to
preparing young people for the workforce by modeling, mentoring and
monitoring excellence in the eight Career Success Standards of:

3.communication; 4.multicultural awareness; 5.personal growth and
development; 6.career and personal planning, and; 7.interpersonal
skills; 8.independent living. MAJOR ACTIVITIES PERFORMED:
1.Demonstrates and abides by the Company Core Values, company
operating principles, Career Success Standards. 2.Assists students
in adjusting to Center life to enhance student retention by
providing supervision, behavior modification, counseling, and by
acting as a positive role model and mentor. 3.Ensures that student
needs are met in a timely professional manner with the highest
degree of customer service in mind. 4.Adheres to all policies and
procedures, and the Center Operating Procedures. 5.Records
attendance at the beginning of each class period and forwards daily
attendance to the Student Records area. Ensures complete and
accurate reporting of attendance in compliance with the Companies
Quality Assurance Plan and Procedures (QAPP). 6.Prepares reports
and documents, files observations of student's behavior,
performance, notable information or events, and progress towards
achieving goals and objectives in case notes. Reports all
significant behavioral incidents immediately to supervisor.
7.Maintains confidentiality, but reports significant events or
situations immediately through approved channels to ensure the
health, safety, and well-being of students and staff, and to ensure
that required reporting occurs, and that students receive emergency
services as needed. 8.Facilitates prompt and appropriate assistance
to students in the event of injury, illness, or emotional trauma.
9.Meets individually with student assigned to their area
responsibility at a minimum of once each month documenting the
meetings in case notes. 10.Ensures equipment and assigned work
areas are clean and maintained in accordance with required
standards. Responsibilities may including conducting quarterly
property counts for classroom, submits property relocation requests
as needed, may serve as a property custodian. Submits maintenance
requests as needed. 11.Responsible for helping students achieve
TABE and academic gains in assigned subject areas, and/or HSD/HSE
obtainment. 12.Responsible to meet monthly department goals and
objectives as assigned by department manager. 13.Promotes a
positive learning environment and atmosphere within the classroom
setting to insure maximum student motivation and achievement.
14.Maintains high degree of structure and discipline in the
classroom in order to ensure safety and maximum learning.
15.Establishes a high degree of student/instructor rapport.
16.Utilizes provided curriculum resources, implements new
curriculum, and develops curriculum through Educational Learning
Plans. 17.Responsible for adequate classroom preparation.
18.Responsible to set short and long term learning goals and track
student performance and achievement. 19.Assesses and makes
recommendations on student awards as approved within the Centers
student incentive plan. 20.Assists in the completion of all
necessary Job Corps forms and entering case notes at least once a
month for each student assigned. 21.Responsible for following
security measures to ensure that equipment, curriculum, tests, and
supplies are secured to safe guard government property and protect
the integrity of student testing. 22.Accountable for the
cleanliness of classrooms. 23.Prepares Evaluations of Student
Performance (ESP) in a timely manner. 24.Monitors and reviews daily
each student's progress to ensure students are making adequate
progress and preforming their own work reports any incidents of
cheating. 25.Attends all training as required. 26.Perform all other
duties as assigned. CENTER/ACADEMY SPECIFIC POSITION DUTIES:

applicable Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum:Bachelor's degree.
Certified to teach in state in which Center is located.
Preferred:Master Degree in Education, and one year experience in a
teaching capacity with disadvantaged youth. Knowledge
Required:Knowledge of required subject area, excellent
communication skills, both oral and written, excellent
organizational skills, must obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid
Certification, ability to motivate and inspire students, ability to
effectively relate to student population. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
