EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES Any combination of experience
and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and
abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and
abilities would be: Experience: Six years of skilled or semiskilled
trade experience in either carpentry, plumbing, electrical or
heating, ventilation and air conditioning maintenance including
experience equivalent to the duties Performed by Maintenance Worker
II. Training: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
Bilingual, oral and written (Spanish) preferred, not required.
License or Credential: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid
California Driver’s license issued by the California Department of
Motor Vehicles. Currently we have one open position that serves
River Delta USD. We are located 12 miles from Antioch, 20 miles
from Fairfield, 21 miles from Dixon, 23 miles from Lodi and Galt,
24 miles from Elk Grove, 29 miles from Vacaville. Work Schedule: 12
Months a year Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Classified Employee
Salary Schedule Range 18 $28.11 - $32.59 hourly Placement dependent
on experience in public education Benefits up to $1500 monthly,
towards the purchase of District sponsored benefits. MISSION

productive members of society ABOUT THE DISTRICT River Delta is a
K-12 district with an enrollment of 1,880. The District has 8 small
schools: (4) K-6 elementary schools; (2) middle schools; and (2)
high schools serving the communities of Clarksburg, Hood,
Courtland, Walnut Grove, Ryde, Locke, Isleton, Rio Vista, Birds
Landing, and Collinsville. The River Delta Unified School District
sits in three counties – Sacramento, Solano, and Yolo. Although it
is a tri-county district, it is served by the Sacramento County
Office of Education. River Delta Unified School District is
committed to providing a quality education for all students and has
high standards and expectations for students' success in school. We
are committed to ensuring that our students meet these standards
and that our clients' expectations for educational excellence are
not compromised. The District continually improves and expands its
curriculum by implementing new programs and broadening the

upon by the teacher, principal, and Superintendent. RIVER DELTA
UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT LEAD MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN Class
specifications are intended to present a descriptive list of the
range of duties performed by employees in the class. Specifications
are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job.
DEFINITION To perform a variety of skilled and semiskilled
construction and building maintenance functions, including,
plumbing, carpentry, electrical work and heating, ventilation and
air-conditioning maintenance; to perform interior and exterior
modifications and renovations to District facilities; and to
perform a variety of related tasks assigned. SUPERVISION RECEIVED
AND EXERCISED Receives general supervision from the Maintenance and
Operations Director. Exercise project supervision over Maintenance
Worker I, II, and Custodial personnel. ESSENTIAL AND MARGINAL
FUNCTION STATEMENTS Essential and other important responsibilities
and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Essential Functions: 1. Maintain, modify or renovate District
buildings; hang doors, install door closures and hardware; repair
damaged dry wall, plaster, roofing and doors; repair or replace
window frames and broken windows. Install instructional boards
(chalk, dry erase, etc.) shelving, cabinets, partitions, draperies,
etc. Install, repair, and maintain ground equipment. 2. Maintain
and repair building systems including: a. Perform electrical work;
maintain circuits and change wires; replace faulty wires;
repair/replace switches, outlets, fixtures, motors; install
electrical equipment including intercom systems. b. Perform
communications work; install cable and phone lines; repair and
maintain clock bell, security, phone, and intercom systems. c.
Maintain, repair, or replace heating ventilation and air
conditioning equipment; change filters, belts and perform
preventive maintenance tasks. d. Perform plumbing work;
cleaning/clearing of system lines, repair/replace faucets, valves,
lines, fixtures and hardware; repair leaks in system. 3. Operate a
variety of plumbing, construction, electrical and grounds
maintenance equipment and tools. 4. Operate a variety of motor
vehicles, including light truck, tractors, backhoes etc. 5.
Estimate time, materials and equipment required for jobs assigned;
requisition materials as required. Marginal Functions: 1. Perform
general cleanup of job sites. 2. Perform routine minor vehicle
maintenance in an emergency situation (replace light bulbs, hoses,
etc.) 3. Move furniture, supplies and other equipment. 4. Perform
related duties and responsibilities as required. QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of: Tools and materials used in building and construction
trades including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and heating
ventilation and air-conditioning maintenance. Maintenance methods
and techniques used in the building trades. Operational hazards and
standard safety practices. Awareness of California building codes
and related requirements. Ability to: Learn to read/interpret plans
and specifications. Perform semiskilled plumbing, Carpentry,
electrical, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning and welding
maintenance activities. Use required tools in the performance of
duties. Repair and/or replace damaged parts, fixtures or equipment.
Work with confines spaces. Understand and follow written and/or
oral instructions. Establish and maintain effective working
relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Maintain
effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for
successful job performance. Maintain mental capacity which allows
the capability of making sound decisions. Experience and Training

WORKING CONDITIONS Environmental Conditions : Shop environment;
variable weather conditions; travel from site to site; exposures to
noise; dust, grease, oils, fumes, high voltage; work or inspect in
confined spaces. Physical Conditions: Essential and marginal
functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for
heavy or moderate lifting, bending, stooping, kneeling, operating
motorized equipment and vehicles.
