Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARYUnder the direct supervision of the Medical
Manager, the Medical Receptionist will assist in ensuring a smooth
daily operation of the medical schedule. Incumbent will be
responsible for scheduling all patients including specialty
providers, answering multiple phone lines, entering patient data
into a computerized system as well as entering and checking
insurance information. Incumbent shall perform other clerical
functions as required. In the absence of a Patient Coordinator, the
Medical Receptionist will work under the direct supervision of the
Clinic Manager.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESSchedules appointments for
patients.Answers and screens phone calls directing callers to the
appropriate staff member or department.Enters patient registration
information into computer.Verifies and updates patient registration
data and insurance information.Checks patient insurance
eligibility.Assists with entry of other information into RPMS
System as required.Ensures eligibility for each visit daily and
process information accordingly.Processes patient self- pay
applications.Performs other duties as assigned.MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONSMust possess High School Diploma or GED equivalent1
year of office experience and/or training in medical office
procedures and patient records preferred.Bilingual strongly
preferred. Spanish/English.Computer literacy in word processing,
spreadsheets and data base components.Experience answering multiple
phone lines and calls.Physically able to bend, lift, and move
quickly.Ability to follow oral and written instructions with
supervision.Ability to work well with others as a team player.Must
be detail oriented.Must possess good oral and written communication
skills.Must possess a valid CDL and be insurable the Tribe's auto
insurance.Must have Hepatitis B Vaccine or declination form on
file. (Vaccine can be administered at Shingle Springs health and
Wellness Center)Candidates for this position will be subject to an
initial drug test prior to scheduling an interview.Post job offer:
CPR/BLS certification, TB test, proof of COVID-19 vaccination and
annual flu shot (during flu season) are required as a condition of
employment, unless a medical/religious accommodation request is
provided. Hepatitis B Vaccine will be offered at no cost to
employees, but it is not required.DRUG SCREENShingle Springs
Rancheria requires the successful completion of a drug screening of
all potential Tribal employees prior to being hired. The Tribe
recognizes that the State of California has legalized the use of
marijuana. The Tribe is located on federally owned trust land and
complies with federal laws. Therefore, marijuana use is prohibited,
and all drug tests will include a screening for THC.Shingle Springs
Rancheria recognizes a zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy and
employees will be required to sign a Consent to Drug and/or Alcohol
Testing. Employees may be selected for alcohol / drug testing upon
reasonable suspicion, and upon any/all accidents.BACKGROUND

Parents of children of the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians;
4) All other documented Native Americans; 5) All other applicants
in accordance with Title 25, U.S. Code, Section 472 and 473.
