As an Administrative Officer within the California Water Science
Center, some of your specific duties will include:
- Serve as the Cost Center Business Manager.
- Serve as member of Center Senior Leadership Team.
- Financial management including advising on initiation and
implementation of non-standard cooperate agreements.
- Budget planning and implementation.
- Analyze the facility arrangements and make long term
recommendations regarding agreements.
- Develop policies, guidelines, and procedures for Center program
- Conduct or direct complex studies related to management
analysis, organizational dynamics, and administrative program
management within Center.
- Supervise the budget and administrative staff within the

- Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at or
equal to the next lower grade level. Examples of this experience
may include, but is not limited to: Working with other management
officials to develop program goals, policies, and management
operations; Working independently to find solutions to problems in
diverse fields; Searching for, compiling and analyzing historical
statistical and narrative data relating to budget and human
resources staffing to determine the impact of higher level
decisions and possible organizational impact; Supervising
preparation of cooperative agreements with Federal, State and local
agencies; Supervising preparation of internal documentation to
insure accountability and distribution of funds to appropriate
project accounts; Conducting onsite reviews of organizational
administrative management programs to evaluate compliance with
laws, regulations, and policy, adequacy of supporting documentation

cost-benefit analysis with recommendations regarding a variety of
administrative functions including finance, human resources,
material resources, maintenance, etc.
