The Unit Secretary participates in and support the patient/family
care and experience through teamwork, effective communication,
customer service skills, clerical skills and maintenance of patient
information under the direction of an RN.
Community- Promotes a positive relationship between Sutter Health
and the community.
Finance - Utilizes resources to deliver quality care in a safe,
efficient, and cost-effective manner.
Growth - Follows patient/family plan of care throughout
hospitalization to achieve optimal transition and
progression toward discharge for patient/family.
People - Participates as a member of the health care team in a
professional manner according to the
Standards of Excellence promoting a positive work environment.
Quality- Provides optimal care to patients/family per facility
standards and provides clerical support and
coordination to health care team members, patients' and families
which is collaborative and meets facility
standards -all to achieve the best possible outcome.
Service - Cares for patient/family according to the Sutter
Difference standards and activities ensuring the best
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education/ Knowledge, including Licensure/ Certification/
BLS-SCP not required at SMCS. High School Graduate, GED or an
equivalent combination of education and experience, plus successful
completion of medical terminology course is required.
Must have demonstrated knowledge of effective English written and
communication skills and basic computer proficiency skills.
Must have demonstrated proficiency in computer skills.
Excellent communication skills required. Must have the ability to
handle a variety of stressful situations while remaining calm,
professional, flexible, and work independently. Demonstrates the
ability to operate basic office equipment, i.e., fax machine,
computer, copier, etc.
