POSITION SUMMARY: Under minimal supervision the CFO is responsible for planning and directing ledger accounts, financial statements, Treasury and Planning Systems. Employees in this job class direct and manage the company fiscal functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); provide leadership and executive oversight for a broad range of financial and support operations including financial planning and budgeting, controller functions, auditing, cash and accounts payable/receivable. This job class requires extensive knowledge of GAAP and GAAS requirements and financial management.

TYPICAL DUTIES: *Ensures timely and accurate budget analysis and financial review for management team. * Recommends and develops policies, procedures and systems to meet company objectives. *Provides strategic financial leadership and support on issues affecting the company. *Works to optimize the handling of Bank and Lending relationships and initiates needed strategies for improvement. *Builds, develops and manages finance team capable of carrying out needed initiatives. *Stays abreast of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance for the finance function. *Aligns financial policies and procedures with company objectives. *Establishes financial reporting systems and controls to ensure compliance with company expenditure requirements and to meet customer needs. *Oversees all aspects of Organization’s accounting and financial management systems, including the development, coordination and implementation of financial policies, reports and controls. *Oversees treasury-related functions (collections, receivables and payables, cash management, and banking relationships). *Supervises the development, implementation and continuous monitoring of the annual budget. *Manages internal funds and oversees credit lines, and other elements of overall external financing strategies. *Oversees the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements and disclosures for internal and external users in accordance with legal requirements. *Analyzes, forecasts and evaluates spending levels relative to projected annual revenues. *Oversees the Risk Management function to include safety and workers compensation. *Collaborates with Human Resources and Risk Management on benefit strategies providing the most competitive packages for Organization’s employees. *Serves as key member of retirement plan committee. *Continuously improves accounting systems and procedures so that accounting records provide accurate and timely information in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles to include taking a leadership position in the planning and implementing of information system upgrades in the accounting and financial functions. *Oversees various compliance initiatives around benefits, Government contracting and other requirements as outlined. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. * Denotes Essential Job Function

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ten or more years of accounting experience, including at least five years a supervisory role; Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP and GAAS); Knowledge of accounting systems and processes as applied to a large organization; High degree of computer literacy in specialized software related to accounting operations, including database, Internet, spreadsheet, and word processing applications; Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local tax laws and regulatory reporting requirements, including those that govern non-profit entities. Familiarity with payroll processing and accounting systems, software and requirements; Ability to produce meaningful financial reports and statements, including narrative reports, spreadsheets, presentation materials and graphic representations; Supervisory skills to hire qualified employees, provide for their professional development, administer performance management and disciplinary processes effectively, and address employee relations appropriately; Ability to effectively supervise and develop assigned team to meet strategic goals; Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to make presentations and respond to inquiries by customers, employees, the public and/or Organization’s board of directors; Demonstrated leadership, organizational, reasoning, problem solving and analytical skills; Human relations skills to build effective relationships with team, customers and public; Exceptional customer service skills; Advanced computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software; Knowledge of business English including vocabulary, spelling, and correct grammatical usage and punctuation; Mathematical skills to include the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations; Ability to establish priorities and solve a wide range of business, operational and strategic management problems; Flexibility to respond to changing work priorities and handle numerous projects at the same time. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors in Business Administration or related field

Masters in Business Administration or related field

**A Bachelors Degree is required for this position; a Masters Degree is preferred.
